Level 19 Enhancement Shaman guide

Damage123

Legend
Seeing as how there are currently no enhancement guides on this site for the 19 bracket, I figured I would make one myself for those who were thinking of making an enhancement shaman. I do not currently own an enhancement shaman but using other players armories, and a bit of research, hopefully I can create a decent guide for gearing up your shaman.

This guide was made during patch 4.3

While it may be possible to use the substituted items above, the bind on account gear is much better than the substitute gear, and should be used unless boa gear is not an option.

When choosing gear try to maintain at least 5 percent spell hit (7 if horde), and by doing this your melee hit will be high enough as well. Theres no point in stacking enough hit to make your normal attacks always hit because you will lose alot of stats and wont hit for much, instead just focus on being special hit capped.

Although I dont play this bracket, nor have the slightest clue what you guys are talking about... looks like a solid guide.

Well done!

Those rings are not the best. There is one that gives 2hit 3stam 5crit.

Edit: Troll is also not best considering that warstomp from tauren is OP as fuck, and during that time u can use GF and have a sec to get away. Soo Tauren > Goblin > Troll > Orc for horde.

I think you are thinking of the boa ring, I added it under substitute gear, but as bis I think the agility rings are better. Dread pirate ring could be used as a substitute if faction changing for ellos band isnt an option, or if going for a max crit set.

As for the different races, this is just my opinion. Tauren could indeed be pretty powerful if the user times his racial right, but as a dps spec I personally think that troll racial combined with lifeblood would put out some serious burst.

How come you say that *it turns out* when it has always been BiS. Also if u get dread pirate ring i would very much insist on switching the crit mail shoulders, to leather hit shoulders.

ill check and see if it works, if so ill update the guide to include the leather shoulders. Also, why switch the mail shoulders to leather getting more hit? you should already be hit capped unless there is a higher hit cap I am not aware of for enhancement shamans.

EDIT- Tbh there are mutiple sets that could be considered bis depending on combination with race/faction. With the leather shoulders you can get hit capped easier, and on horde side since you need more hit this would be a great option, but on alliance side its easy to reach hit cap without them. A typical hit capped horde build would have a few less crit points than an alliance build, but thats about the only difference. I added the leather ones to bis as well.

Dread pirate ring is Bis when still lacking hit, but with an alliance gear-set there is no need for it seeing as how the other gear already takes you to hit cap and argas adds ap/sp.

Im no expert on enhancement shamans so if Im doing anything wrong please help me out=p

Your *hit cap* is only your spell hit cap which is 7 ik this. For both horde and ally Dread Pirate is better due to crit. Also im saying if you have the ring, use hit shoulders because of the fact those shoulders have more agi and hit, and sense most people dont have the Dread Pirate ring, their crit will still be up to par with other shamans aswell as having more ap/hit.

TO the question of further hit cap, every duel wielding class would require a high amount of hit to be *hit capped*. My idea for the shoulders again was for that time period after you have used a shock, lava lash, and primal strike. White hits are a good chunk of an enhancement shamans damage.

Edit: Might want to include a not next to the hit shoulders to only use if you have dread pirate ring.

Allright I added a note that the leather hit shoulders are best used with dread pirate ring.

Also I was going under the assumption that about 10 percent melle hit cap was ok since thats what fury warriors go for, and I was thinking 5 percent spell hit(7 percent if horde) would be good enough, because even fury warrios dont max out thier white hit cap, they just go for 10.

Yah i wouldnt recomend that much hit unless u had something to counter balance it, such as the ring.
