Influx of undergeared players?

  • Over the last week or so I've noticed far more new/extremely undergeared players than ever before, not just undergeared as in brutal no gems/chants, I'm talking like 60 pvp gear with wotlk blues.

I recently had a game wherein my entire team didn't get over a total of 3 KB's as opposed to one enemy getting 30+. Unfortunantly I was healing on my druid during that game, worst. game. ever.

If this means more 70s to BG with, arena with, etc. that's great! Although I think the bad experience during those BG's alone will discourage them.

Anyway, has anyone else noticed a rise of these sorts of players? or am I just terribly unlucky with my team mates.

I personally haven't noticed any such increase. The 70 bracket is fluctuating constantly, players coming and going every day, so it's only to be expected that there will be people gearing up. Not everyone sets out with the intent to make a 70 twink by saving up honor to buy PVP gear when they ding. Some levelers may just decide to stop by and check out how the BGs are.

The best response is to be supportive and offer advice, rather than scorning them for being under geared (something we've all been at one point or another). Serving as a good example, not only by gearing well, but also by being welcoming towards newer players will make people stick around longer, and will thus result in the number of geared twinks rising.

This has been happening in other brackets as well. Very noticable a few months ago in the 19's. Undergeared players were getting destoyed in the 19's.

The funny thing is, I am not playing my 70 right now, because he is...undergeared. Full brutal, with enchants and gems, but trying for the needed raid gear and having a hard time finding level 70 raids that will actually let a level 70 in....

i play my 70 priest now and again. My priest is situated on a different realm from my main so the only way to get gems etc is to do bgs for honour > jps but saying that i do have full pvp gear.

Happens on my realm too, best bet is to make your own raid, say t6 for transmog and 85s will come runnin.

    Are you serious?

You can earn gold so fast now a days..

I earned 1k in 2hours of farming (+ the time in AH, which was around 16h) on a lvl 10, i made horde..

Its so extremely easy to earn gold.

I personally refuse to buy gems from the AH, 300g per 20 intel is a bit stupid, imo.

Bragging about your own gold-earning ability while not giving any advice in turn doesn't really help him out..

    Depends on Server though.

All servers have their specific herb.. (I know i'm generalising, but i'm 99% sure this is true.. If not a herb, then an ore .. u get the point)

If i can make gold that easy on a lvl 10, then you can earn much more on a lvl 70..

I had to kill mobs, run, etc...

    I really love Satina's posts!

let me ask you this then... if they were too stupid 2 even farm honor before locking their xp, how can you expect them to become well geared well skilled players? i mean you can even farm brutal in the 70 to 71 xp range nowadays...

While I leveled my druid to 70 I hit the honor cap of 4k, spent some on JP's and hit the honor cap again..

All gems + brutal paid for soon as I hit 70, I leveled quickly too, winning bgs earns loads of experience, so thats not an issue.

I've made over 50k in an afternoon, Just transmuting, Cutting, and selling Cata-grade gems.

There is an abundance of money/gold in this game, Everybody just needs to find their own way to get/earn it.

And figured as i didn't have an 85 on the server, and wouldn't get around to leveling one for quite some time, Linked several mass-gold-making-ideas in trade chat, of course, Nobody whispered anything posative. Most of the whispers were from people who were already doing it. Buy carnelian for 50g ea, Transmute 3 carnelians/heartblossoms' into 1-5 Inferno rubies, Cut, sell for 280-430g a piece.

Seems like people just want hand-outs, instant money on the spot, yadda yadda. But anywho.

I've found it's just best to personally whisper players with incorrect gemming/enchanting/gearing, ie; Hunter/rogue with 44 AP (Crusher) to gloves. Most people gladly accept advice. Then there is the odd person who will say "i prefer more raw ap over agility", To which it's usually best to leave them in their own 'lil world.

And yes, There will always be 'newbies', who are undergeared, in every bracket. An influx could just mean the bracket is getting more popular. Who knows.

Here's another truth of the matter, during 4.2 I was leveling an 85 but also have 3 70 raid geared twinks. I semi-twinked with Brutal gear, cheap enchants, blue gems etc and played 70's long enough to have enough honor in the season and to be honor capped to buy the 85 weapon when I dinged. There are or were players in that category and I don't think I was in the bracket for 10 days. Even gemmed and enchanted properly (Though no epic gems, no 80 raid level enchants.) I still got knocked for being a budget twink.

There are always an influx of bads into any bracket. However what I do notice is that one side almost always gets saddled with bads and more often than not and 70's matches are complete blow outs on one side or the other. You may be one of 3-4 really well geared players out of 10 and the other side has 8. You're never going to win a match like that.

We're really getting nit picky here but I do agree with you. The funniest thing I've seen in a WSG where we got destroyed was a lock flag runner on my team in 60 PVP gear get decimated by a synapse rogue for 12k and one shotting him. He complained and bitched so hard and I just couldn't stop laughing at him. Good thing I was able to stealth because that BG chat was classic.

Yeah, the best BG's are always the ones with 10v10 geared/skilled players, with a good diversity of class.

Although rogues are a solid class, having 4-5 in a EoTS/WSG etc tends to end up in a loss, unless they're premade group.
