GM reply on queue times

Legend
Here was my first ticket:

Bug report: You probably already know, but there is a problem with queues. On both Alliance and Horde side, there is a 4 hour queue in the 20-25 bracket for Arathi Basin on Call to Arms weekend. Yesterday these were only 3 min queues for Horde and 10 min queues for Alliance. I am seeing players speaking in chat about 3 hour queues for random heroics at lvl 85. Something is seriously wrong here.

GM reply:

Greetings,

It's possible for Battleground queues to be much longer, depending on the amount of people queuing up for battle at any particular time. The ETA is based on the most recent group of people's experience, and if there are few people queuing, it certainly can go up quite a bit. We are always monitoring how queues are going, though, and we certainly do keep track of this kind of information. THank you for making sure we are actively looking into it

My second ticket:

I recently had a ticket closed: #21870066

The answering GM indicated that queues fluctuate depending on players in the queue. I am afraid that the GM may have glanced over my ticket without actually reading it.

The Battlegroud queue is currently BROKEN. This is not a matter of too few players queueing, or a faction imbalance.

In the 20-24 bracket, estimated queue times are currently running over 4 hours for both factions, but no one is actually getting in. AB CTA for the busiest PVP bracket?

I will let you know if I get an answer that makes sense, but I advise that everyone put in tickets about the problem, if you want to see it resolved.

I have seen mixed messages about whether this is affecting P2P the same as F2P. Can anyone confirm? I also notice that I remain in the BG queue when I log out or even exit the game. Is this related?

It would obviously be affecting XP off 20-24 paid accounts because without F2P 20s, there are no 20-24 XP off games. I played XP on 54-59 and it worked fine, so BGs are working, just not for 20-24 XP off. Also, the queue time is currently 19hrs and even though I've been logged off, as soon as I log back on, I'm still in the queue.

maybe they're trying to limit our f2p pvp play-time and the method is still a work-in-progress (just as each server has a limit to how many f2p's can log in, they might be trying to make a similar queue for how many f2p's can be in battlegrounds at any given time).

imo, its only a matter of time before they turn the 'trial' account back into a 'trial' account.

...just my guess, but that's what i'd do.

if it is just a temp bug...sucks ARSE that it happened on AB weekend.

My guess is it's just Blizz fucking things up as usual. Things have been relatively stable, but then it's been a while since there was a patch as big as this one, so I don't think anyone is surprised things have gone wrong. They try to fix a few things and invariably break ten more.

Of course it's possible this is an attempt to remove starter accounts from BGs, but I doubt that's the case here.

As for the GM response, yes, the usual cut and paste garbage. I guess we have to wait and see what the next response is.

New response from recent ticket:

Greetings,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. =)

It sounds like the issue may be related to corrupted user interface files in your game client. In order to ensure that corrupted UI files do not hinder your gameplay experience, I suggest doing a full UI reset.

Here's how to reset your UI:

1) Close completely out of the game client.

2) Go into your World of Warcraft folder and delete or rename the WTF, CACHE, and INTERFACE folders.

3) Simply start World of Warcraft again from the Launcher. If the UI reset was done properly you will see the opening cinematic upon start-up and any third party add-ons will be wiped.

If you have any trouble performing the UI reset, you can find more detailed instructions on our support site. To find these instructions, simply visit (www.blizzard.com/support), type "UI reset" in the search box, and click on "Common Display Issues".

I am at work now, so I would appreciate if anyone else can try this. Reset everything and disable all add-ons. I expect that it is still broken, but you gotta try...

The last BIG patch I can recall "Echos of Doom" (Second Scourge Invasion prior to Wrath Release) fugged the BG's up something fierce. I wager that it's a side effect of the patch.

Yeah I really hate seeing this answer as well, there is no way I can think of that your UI folders have anything to do with the broken queue lengths.

Just another copy paste answer so they can avoid actually answering until you've deleted your settings...

It might be a little late to post this now, but last night around 4:00 pm server time I queued for AB on my previously xp locked level 15 random dungeon slave (who is no longer xp locked, just to clarify) and the queue popped instantly. I played three games which were surprisingly enjoyable. So 15-19 xp on works for f2p and p2p accounts.

Edit: I had also opened a ticket about the queues and the GM that answered it told me to reset my UI by deleting those folders in mighty's post. I wasn't about to spend a bunch of time re-downloading all the addons I use and whatnot and since I was 99% sure that wasn't the issue I didn't bother.

I just finished talking with a gm as well....

I was a complete bitch, explaining what is going, clearly stating how it isnt a UI or activity problem.

Also, I said that we're unable to post about it in the forums, and that GM tickets was as far as we could go - so the GM ended up asking me more questions and wrote some kind of report to pass the word on, saying that if the problem is legit, which it clearly is, there will be a post we should check out in the bugs forum.

I deleted those folders stil doesn't help. P2p exp on bgs also show 9 hr ques but is really only a minute wait like normal.

FYI F2Ps cannot post in the bug report forums

A lot of F2P players have retail accounts. The bracket is made up of F2P and P2P players also.

Either way, we all want the queues fixed!

Of of course, I feel ya. Just saying because you might not see as much 20-24 support as you thought you might but you seem to be more well informed than some of the other people who come and post here occasionally
