Hit rating cap- Casters and Fighters?

  • I am currently working on a frost mage and I was wondering what the hit cap at lvl 20 is for casters/fighters

    I looked for a thread about this but could not find it.

    PvP Hit cap for mages is 4%.
     
    for more of a general rule: 4% hit cap for casters and 6% hit cap for melee





    edit: this is for against 20s, if you want to be capped against 24s (not really advised) your looking at like 15% i think.

    4% to cap vs other 20's as a CASTER.



    For jorde clothies, this can be achieved by either GSoJ and a 2 hit wand, or Ring+Wand+Boots. If you opt for the GSoJ route (with Garrosh's Pardon and Corpse Rompers), you gain 6 STA, 7 resil, and 9 armor. If you choose to go with Dignified Headmaster's Charge (with Boots of Unturned Loyalty and Lavishly Jeweled Ring) you gain 3 INT and 6 crit.



    5% to cap vs other 20's as a MELEE (not OH) or RANGED.



    For leather, the BoAs provide ample hit. For hunters/enhance, go with Hogger's Trousers + (Band of Precision/Stillwater Dagger/BoA Leather Shoulders).



    For Hpals, use Lavishly Jeweled Ring + Acquisition Bracers + Boots of the Unturned Loyalty.



    For Rets/Wars, use the Bracers of the Most Trusted + Demon Band + Leather BoA (iffy about this, maybe other Rets and Wars can add here)
     
    So would you recommend completely capping hit, or no hit at all, and going for max damage?



    Max damage is hit cap.



    Hit cap always. As a Hpal, for example, missing an HoJ, exorcism, CS, or Holy Shock can be a game breaker when they all do such large damage compared to the health pools of the bracket.
