Is there a place on this site for suggestions? Like I think it would be cool for a dislike function to be added to posts right by the like function. It wouldnt have to show who disliked it, but just the number of dislikes the post has. Also the report function could be changed to where you could have a choice to add a note or not, and there could be a series of different things to mark it as, such as spamming, trolling, or just not suited for the forums.



Again Im sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I just couldnt find a suggestions forum on this site and was wondering if there was one and I had missed it, or if you guys were thinking of adding one some time in the future.

As for the dislike function, we did have something similar before but it was abused and didn't add anything positive to the site. I understand that in the capacity you describe that it would not be so easily abused, but what do you think it would add to the site? I don't see it adding anything of particular merit, especially for the effort involved in implementing it.



The report feature already allows you to write a note, in fact there is enough space in the report note to write a short essay if you like. This should be more than enough for you to make the reason you are reporting well known, though just saying "flaming" instead of an essay works just as well since we investigate each report anyway.



Incidently, you can use the report feature for good posts as well, such as nominating a guide for the official section or a post for sticky.
