R shaman vs H pally for staying alive

So i have a F2P 20 resto and i'm having fun on him; but i'm finding it really hard to keep myself alive if there's 2 people on me. and i was wondering if H pally's were better at keeping them selves alive and healing others with their 2 insta heals.and the talents for pallys seem like they're more useful than shamans. so what are your guys thoughts?

holy paladins have waaay more survivability, but you're going to have to use buttons other than "healing surge" and occasionally "earth shield", so keep that trade-off in mind. only like 3 more buttons though

and i take down resto shamans solo all the time, not to mention with another person....don't feel bad if you're dying to multiple people

Hpallys have more survivability while rshamans have more offensive utility. It boils down to your playstyle. I enjoy an offensive healer so I play rshaman, if you just want to be the guy bombing heals then roll hpally.

Still wrong.

A Rsham is only offensive against Priests. Even then, as you pointed out, it is utility only. You are worthless when in a 1v1 situation, and if you are in a situation where it's group vs group, you are probably spamming heals and can't afford wasting globals on purge and WS.

Hpal is offensive against EVERY class. 5 second stun and some of the strongest burst in the bracket. I end up getting a ton of flag returns and flag caps by HoJ'ing a healer and dropping 800-1500 quick damage from 3x Exo and HS.

I love people who think ws costs a gcd

I dont think that a resto shaman is useless 1on1. I mean purge/wind shear, totems, shocks, melee with flametongue using primal strike, and shock.... All that combined dmg adds up when u can keep urself alive indefinetly till u run out of mana. Course while using water shield/ lightning shield you can add up dmg AND still get more mana...

yup

100% on point

if you want to stay within 25 yards of opposing healers in BGs, be my guest. it only makes you easier to kill and CC. resto shamans are great at being offensive in arenas, though

I'm referring to arenas in almost all of my posts but as far as that goes most of the players in bgs are absolutely terrible anyway so staying close to enemy healers won't make a difference

Holy paladins have a good bit more survivability. Both do well on offense and defense.
