A few questions - thinking about playing again

I starting playing f2p a few months ago after stopping pre-cata. I'm thinking about coming back to play 19s and had a few questions I wanted to ask before reactivating my paid accounts.



1) I would want to get the heirloom heads for my toons, so

a) do I need to level a main to 85 to qualify for guild vendor purchases?

Are lvl 20 guilds easy to find?

c) does it take awhile to have sufficient guild rep to purchase the guild looms (or is it just like getting rep for a faction with a tabard)?



2) Are BGs popping all day? what's a typical wait time during US daytime hours? Are the queue-times similar for horde and alliance?





3) Are there any grandfathered items that will make a noticeable difference for any particular class? I have things like wingblade, inferno robe, seal of sylvanas, etc. Do faction specific grandfathered items survive faction changes like they used to?

a. no but its faster to get it that way.

b. yes

c. a month tops

2) horde getting faster queue times atm but that is always changing. I'd guess 10 minutes an average

3) gf is a big deal for prot warriors and fc druids, other then that not really, casters miss out on jutebraid but they can live w/o it ect. no you don't have to worry about gf gear when faction changing.
 
You do not technically need to have a level 85 to get the boa helmet and cloak, but it does make it much easier. You would need to spam chat for a level 20+ guild, which shouldnt really be too hard to find, and once accepted begin to grind out the guild rep. The higher your level, the more guild rep you will get for accomplishing things.
 
A] No, you will not need a 85 to reach honored with a level 20+ guild.



You can actually get it at basically all levels, but it taking more time the lower level you are.



You can, for example, do arenas with a guildmate at 70 and still get a lot of guild rep.



B] Yes, a level 20 guild should be relatively easy to find. There should be at least one leveling guild on every server that is level 25 and will let basically everyone in.



C] It's not like doing dungeons with a tabard. I would say the easiest way to get guildrep is to equip a renowned guild tabard (if you have access to one) and then play arenas with a guildmate. At 85 you get 300 (600 with tabard equipped) guild reputation by winning an arena match with a partner in your guild. I'm not sure about how fast it is at 70.



To reach honored with guild, you would have to get a total of 9000 guild reputation. There is a cap at each week, meaning you won't be able to do it all in a row. I'm not sure how high the cap is since they made it higher, but I'm sure you can get to honored in 2 weeks (Not 2 actual weeks, but there has to be at least one weekly reset between the times you're getting rep.



For example, if the guild rep cap is 4500, you could get this reputation by doing arenas. Then wait until wednesday reaches, where the guildrep-cap has reset, and do more arenas for the remaining 4500 rep.



2) Not sure since I'm EU.



3) All classes do fine without grandfathered items, some more and some less. Rogues and hunters for example are not in need of any grandfathered items to be best in slot.
 
Tbh dont try to grind out guild heirlooms on a low level toon. I was doing that on my 70 and it took ages, it would be faster to make a DK and just head for 85, you'll get the rep in no time at all.
 
The bubs told you what's what, but if u roll clothie or a FC, the fishing hat might be bis, so you can skip the rep farm and make it easier for yourself

Yeah thx - unfortunately the reality for me is that in the past 4 years I've only been able to fish on Sunday afternoons about 15 times, and out of the 5-6 rares I've caught I've got exactly zero hats, so the heirloom head seems a lot easier :)
