Openers

Duels

Against Non Mages:

Subtlety:

Sap -> Garrote (with Premeditation and without breaking Sap) -> Shiv (for Crippling Poison Proc) -> Backstab/Hemorrhage -> Kidney Shot ~0,2 seconds before the Garrote Silence fades.

Mutilate:

Sap -> Garrote -> Envenom (to stack Deadly Poison up) -> 2x Mutilate -> Kidney Shot

Against Mages:

Subtlety:

Sap -> Garrote (with Premeditation) without breaking Sap -> instantly Kidney Shot him -> spam Backstab/Eviscerate until the Silence fades (you can use Shadow Dance at this point and spam Ambush instead of backstab).

Mutilate:

Don't even try to duel a Mage.

Against Melees:

Non Warriors:

Subtlety:

Sap -> Garrote (with Premeditation) -> 2x Backstab/Hemorrhage -> Kidney Shot (from behind)

Arena

Mutilate and Subtlety:

Most of the time you have to open with Cheap Shot instead of Garrote followed by a Kidney Shot, because the enemy can easily run away

Mutilate:

Sap -> Garrote -> 2x Mutilate -> Kidney Shot

Warriors:

Subtlety:

Sprint/Dark Flight -> Garrote (with Premeditation) -> Hemorrhage (for the bleed debuff) -> Backstab -> Kidney Shot (from behind)

Mutilate:

Sprint/Dark Flight -> Sap -> Garrote -> 2x Mutilate -> Kidney Shot

cheap shot synapse ambush ambush ambush next target

Hmm my well my openers are some what to the same listen above... But i just do

Non caster

Premedation->Shadowstep->Ambush->Hemo->Kindey->Hemo->Hemo->Hemo-> Evis..(Normally they are dead by the second hemo...)

Most caster classes i will do

Premedation->Shadowstep->Garrot->Hemo->Kindey->Hemo->Hemo->Normally a kick to stop casting or a hemo-> Evis

Some of the caster that i feel i can kill..or i want to try something different i will do

Premedation->Shadowstep->Ambush->Hemo->Kindey->Hemo->Hemo->Kick->Hemo->Evis

To be honest, with most mages what i find more effective ( since most of them are actually bad ) is not to garrote at the beginning but to cheap shot, most of them will just blink out of it, shadowstep, force block, vanish, and once block is over you should have preparation, cloak of shadows ready as well as shadow dance / synapse to grant you a kill in those 30 seconds where the mage can not re-block.

Sadly i manage to get a Gouge his way out of block about 1/2 times, if the guy is quick he can just cancel aura blink in the matter of less than a second as it does not affect the gcd.

hence why i feel more confident playing this way, which brings me to the same result.

But than again, i'm not a great rogue, just playing it out of fun, so my "tactics" might not be the best and or most professional ones !
