all battlegroups merged?

i have been hearing rumors, but this needs to be cleared up... is it true that all the realms play together in battlegrounds now? is there such thing as a realm's battlegroup anymore? have all the realms or battlegroups been merged with each other? ty for reading and help is appreciated ^.^ - Murk
