Disgusting oozling : There is hope!

The other day my brother got disgusting oozing off his first slime in his first bag in ashenvale; I noticed some people in the extras guide said that it no longer dropped off low level mobs. Just a word for those farming it not to give up! On a side note: 1.5k casts - no sea turtle...

Maybe a small proof then just throwing it in here?
<
... Really those new people are just soooooooooooooooo cool
<

Bullshit. Those slimes don't drop oozing bags, i've done the lubrication quest over 15 times. Pics or it never happened. However, meet http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/aerie-peak/Petfarmer/simple , soon to be helper of the very first owner of a F2P Oozeling, Shfthappens. Also as I suppose this is just as good of a time as any, if all goes well, this hunter, on a separate account from mine, will have account details that I think I will be handing out at my own discretion for other people's similar purposes.

Cool find, thanks for letting us know.

I have yet to see an oozing bag off of an Ashenvale ooze. Screenshots. Wowhead data looks like its inaccurate, but maybe just exponentially low drop rate off lower level oozes?

It's a 1% and under drop chance off oozes outside swamp of sorrows. There was never any doubt that they didn't drop from low level oozes, they just never dropped in a quantity worth farming for. Farming a 1% droprate for a 2% chance to get the ooze is like 0.000002% chance of getting an ooze.

Saying "first f2p ever" is a bit retarded because you're not going to get one on a F2P account, ever. Unless you have high level help or high level help and farming the lvl 52 slimes. But then it's not technically "F2P".

Didn't pay too much attention to it at the time (no interest in Pets) but on one of my Horde toons one of the slimes near the Barrow in SE Ashenvale did drop a bag, similarly on my Ally Rogue a slime in the Wetlands (in the tomb). Neither did contain anything special.

Bags do drop, just not that often (to put it mildly) and therefore farming them for the Pet, while theoretically possible, will take a looooong time - or being very lucky.

Considering the Swamp is crawling with NPC's now as the Cataclysm was a huge blow to the world's infrastructure and turned Azeroth in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, might kiting the resident Slimes into guards be an option?

Edit: gratz on the Oozeling!

There are no towns in SoS close enough to kite a slime and the ones that are don't have guards that will attack them. I've already tried.

Meh. Thanks for trying this out.

I heard that they changed some of the few fun things Cata brought like kiting the new shark in Redridge to SW or the Nelf General from Feralas to Ogrimmar. Makes you wonder why places have guards if they do nothing (yes yes I know, 'WorldPvP', but it's still odd mobs are a-okay to invade settlements).

Neutral mobs are never attacked by guards because that would make it easy for a low level to kite them, especially since they must have engaged them themselves.

Hostile mobs are not always the players choice to engage.

So you're saying there's a chance?
