This is why AP does suck. Cause it is " OK " to bot. It's ok to act like botting is OK. As if you should post because you see yourself better than others. 800 + posts and you bot. F2p isnt about what you can do, but what you can do without doing for yourself. /sigh . Hope you get to the 1k posts mark. That will be something that YOU did .
It's funny how people keep talking about Aerie Peak Alliance side having all this drama. I don't really like that label, because I don't see the drama in game and I don't think that it's true or fair for/to the rest of us.
But it's sort of like the 24-trolling-counter-trolling thing here on the boards. 1 or 2 people go off the reservation, and make a bad name for everyone else. That doesn't sit well with me. There will always be people who are magnetically drawn to drama and/or attention, and there's not a lot we can do about that... but when it starts to affect the way we as a whole community are viewed, it becomes a problem for me. And I don't like problems.
Although I know it's asking a lot, I often find myself wishing that everyone put the needs and health of the community before their own needs the way I do. We would have so much less stupidity going on that way. All I can really do is be an example, and then ask everyone else to step up. I've said this before and I'll say it again: Do the right thing.

lol this post is hilarious because of how you unintentionally point out the logic of botting
yeah, a person could slog through a forum and make 1000 lengthy, well thought-out posts
or, they could make a bunch of 1-line posts that contribute virtually nothing
in the end, both methods will reach the exact same result and the exact same reward ("reward"? not really sure that anybody cares about post count, but people are weird), only the person who makes a bunch of 1-line posts will save massive amounts of time
by the same token, a person *could* actually play in a couple hundred shitty pub BGs in the 20 bracket, and eventually get their BOAs. or conversely, they could bot their BOAs, get them about 50 times faster, and then resume playing
and i don't think that he "sees himself better than others". he was simply defending himself against multiple people who attacked him for botting
Yes, support this person. Yay for you Cotus. Where do you download the bot programs from again? Someone should make a sticky post and call it " Botting and how to do it " and list all the links. Because you shouldnt have to work for your boas, you should just have to work after you get them after its been 50 times faster. /facepalm
i am pretty sure that someone is, in fact, considering making a guide for how to bot at 20
so perhaps your wish will be granted!
The problem with botting isn't how you get your BoAs. I couldn't care less how much effort someone else puts into getting their BoAs. The problem is that by fielding a bot you impede the ability of your team members to play a good game with 10 people. I don't play bgs to farm things, I play because I want to have a good time.
Anyone who has worked hard to win a good game will tell you every person on your team matters, and there is nothing more frustrating than to lose a game, not because you all worked hard and the other team just did better, but because there was an empty spot on your team. As a pvp-er I personally would never inflict that condition on another group of players, because it drives me nuts when it happens to me. I cannot understand why anyone would care so much about having BoAs that they would run a bot (and risk their account that I'd assume they'd put some amount of work into and would not like to lose) just to not have to play games. Games yes? The thing we do for fun? I mean if you don't want to play battlegrounds now... why would you want BoAs to play battlegrounds later? Its not as though having them is required to do well, I do fine with just the shoulders I got before I hit 20 while I work on the rest of the set, and no one will fault you for pvp-ing to get something you need to pvp to get
Just my 2 cents on the subject of botting bgs. Of course its the call of whoever is running the bot but the thought of the 20s bracket becoming as bot ridden as endgame makes me sadpanda.

You are an alliance player. As alliance, being at a 1 person disadvantage actually makes the playing field slightly more level. You guys still have far more hunters and 1200+ HP peeps, but it's okay, I'll still fight my ass off to beat you

Lol. I'm not an "alliance player." My current twink is ally because that's just the one that was ready first (call it a qwirck, I refuse to go into bgs without me a lucky fishing hat and after weeks of trying my poor tauren doesn't have it yet) so that's what I'm playing, and I'll happily play on the horde side when able to.
It's rather insulting to the horde to say that every horde group would need a -1 person handicap on the alliance side to make it even don't you think? No, with hunters and twinked out 24s ect the games aren't going to be balanced for 20 twinks, but straight up 10v 10 matches where all players are active give balance a better shot. Normally I wouldn't feel strongly enough to post on this matter, however I was in a game yesterday against a small 24 group on the horde side which we lost by one cap... and I think we could have won if there hadn't been a bot (possibly the one in question in this thread

i'll take whatever 24s i can get on horde, thank you very much. i usually queue with at least one 24 on aerie peak. the faction imbalance in this bracket is comical
i can understand people being upset at bots on their team. fortunately, there is a solution - report them AFK. repeatedly tell people in chat to report them AFK. my friends and i frequently run into botters and baddies in this bracket. but they're never a problem, because we report them AFK, they get kicked and replaced, and we continue to play and enjoy pvp
