Reason 873: Why Blizz sucks

I've seen the many complaints about why Blizzard sucks and some are legit imo and others are just QQs. Here's another to add to the list:

I put in a petition to change the name of a guild I bought a few weeks back (which had a name based on a famous YouTube clip). The guild is on a RP-PvP server which ofc has strict rules on naming of everything (I've gotten a char re-named 2x on this realm: Pwny > Cotexx > Inkobah becasue it wasn't RP - so you can see how strict they are on naming). Anyways, when the GM talked to me he said that they took away the ability for GMs to re-name guilds but there would be a service in the near future that would allow the re-naming of guilds. I asked him if it would be a paid service but he said he did not know. Ofc I can't help but think if they're even calling it a name change service it's going to be a paid service.

But here's the thing (if I'm right about my suspicions and I'd bet money I am): Instead of changing the name to allow it to follow the server rules they'll hold out in hopes that I'll drop money in the near future to change the name. So once again, it's all about the benji's to Blizzard. Here's to reason 873 (arbitrary number in case you didn't catch) to why Blizzard sucks.

why blizzard sucks; 874: they still haven't fixed stealth and vanish.

guards still lag shoot you when you vanish(breaking stealth) , and pets still follow you around when stealthed, and sometimes attacking you while in stealth.

EU GM's refering people with Starter Accounts to the Fora 'because we value Feedback from all our players' when Starter Accounts have no posting rights on any of the EU Fora. Not only that, it's common policy to do so even while they're aware of the posting limitations.

And yeah, the Pet-Stealth thing sucks and ofc the removal of the XP-Lock for Starter accounts, too. There is plenty more (the Linen Bag recipe was apparently considered OP as starting Tailoring Recipe etc.) but the referal policy takes the cake for me.

it's been around since pre-cata...

Damn, I'm sorry for your poor experience with blizzard.

It happens. I was just miffed that instead of following their own rules for the server they want my money. The name thing isn't a big deal...I just want consistency from them (though admittedly is hard when you got lots of people giving lots of answers).

If there are over 800 reasons as to why they suck, there must be plenty of reasons why they rock, too

At last check, the reasons why Blizz rocks is still in the 300's.

Is there something on that list of 300 things that has to do with them caring about lower level pvp?

Oh wait... nevermind.

Here's the announcement on all the guild change services: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/3710215. Let's see how much Blizz makes off this latest "service".

That's the way people are, they can only see the negative in the games they play because all of the positives are expected to happen

Well when what should be for free suddenly costs $20, yes.

Instead of changing the non-RP name like they used to (because non-RP names are against the rules on an RP server) they want me to drop $20?? That is messed up. It's a good thing I don't really care about the name...

maybe a few but look at reason 2242 and it makes all the good go away

I agree...reason 2242 is why I'm selling my account.

Arsh stuff.

That's the spirit! Instead of complaining, just quit
<

"You don't like how transnational oil companies exploit millions of people? Well why don't you just stop supporting them?"

Because doofus, they have a monopoly on the only game in town. Gasoline is the only national transportation fuel. When WoW is still the best game out there, but Blizzard still pulls some sleazy shit, players surely have a right to petition for a redress of grievances. They probably won't get anywhere, as Blizzard belongs to a vampirish corporation, but the players shouldn't have to be subjected to the same BS from players like yourself.

Go ahead and complain. The only thing that will make a difference is quitting. I've seen people complain about Blizzard a million times but they still don't quit. Either they're whiny or they're addicted.

You can post over 2000 reasons why Blizzard sucks, but I've made more of a difference by being indifferent to the game and not playing it.

It's tough when you generally like something (or need it) but have complaints about things that appear unfair or unethical. We all like WoW to some level here as we're all posting and reading on a site that wouldn't exist w/o WoW, but when Blizzard makes decisions based solely on money (and flies in the face of their own rules) that doesn't sit well with many of us.

Quitting is one option to get your dissatisfaction across (but people quit for varying reasons and your dissatisfaction probably will not get heard in any capacity). But to say that voicing an opinion is not a viable option to correct "wrongs" is also incorrect. Just ask Libya, Egypt, and now Yemen. Virtually every famous person in history that made a difference did so by voicing opinions and their actions. I don't remember a single person that made a difference in the history of the planet by quitting.

Anyways, this whole thread was half joke for me. It does bother me that Blizz makes rules and doesn't follow them just to squeeze out some more cash out of people, but it's certainly not why I'm selling my account. It's just time for me to sell it...I'm going to be too busy with Uncharted 3, MW3, and Skyrim to mess with WoW. Plus I like starting over and building things from scratch so I may just do that after a hiatus...but then again I may pick up SWTOR (if there's twink PvP, that is).

Blizz sucks 9104: Poorest customer service I ever experienced.

In order to get name changes for free back in the day we would have multiple people report the players or guilds name as offensive and then make up different outlandish reasons why.
