The real reason why F2P Feral Druids kinda blow

  • So yeah. I don't think I suck too atrociously at this game so I'm chaulking up this morning's Gurubashi event to the fact that its purely my toon that sucks (and that p2p > f2p even with a huge level gap).

I lost against a level 10 balance druid.

I just couldn't kill the frickin guy. I was buffed up and ready to go. Used both my DoTs in combination with my feral attacks. At least half a dozen times, I got him to within one Mangle or Ferocious Bite of killing him...just to see my energy bar at zero and then he'd heal to full in 2 casts. He spent a full five minutes just non-stop casting and his mana bar never dropped below about 85%. I just couldn't finish the little fricker off.

That was by far the longest, most painful death I've had in 5+ years of playing this game.

    :/

    Scaling can be a b*tch.

Look at it this way, at least you're not a normal leveller in the 10-14 bracket where 'unkillable lvl 10 kitties' are a royal pain.

    But GL on the trinks.

lol. thanks for the support. it just boiled down to me being oom for self-heals and never having enough dps to kill the little stinkpot. :/

took a 3mile run this morning and still bent out of shape.

...You had problems with a balance? How is that? I know scaling is pretty bad and he could have some super gear but you should be able to crit him down really close and fb finish him. Also you should try not to open with dots. Yes they are nice but you might aswell stealth, open mangle rake mangle fb then run while putting up dots.

With some proper enchants&BoAs it's incredibly easy for a level 10 to kill a 20, so you shouldn't feel TOO bad about it

level 10s are gods when resilience enters the picture. Not to mention their ridiculous regen.

I'm sorry about that, Solvogero. That was me on my paid account.

Funny thing is that after you opened up, I was leaving the arena, giving up the chest, and trying not to die since you are ?? to me. It was'nt until I hit the steps that I realized you were a either a F2P or a random untwinked toon and therefore fought back. The scaling is really the only reason it turned out like it did. As a resto druid I have crazy mana regen from mediation before the 30% damage reduction from resilience, the 34% spell crit, and the 33% haste.

Its not your toon that's the problem, its the scaling.

balance druids are a OP sleeper class....imo, and rarely rolled. i have seen them in 19 and 20 pull off serious damage and heals. due to the changes awhile back on +spell damage and +healing damage counting both as +spell power, bal-spec heals.hots are real strong to boot to

in 20, there is a bal on AP named cer (has some asci letters), seen many times where cer is like #1 or 2 damage and #2-4 in heals.

a rare bal in 19....think the name was tubgirl? been awhile, but as a bal pulled 39K in damage and 32k in a WSG

lol. i think that hurt just about as bad as the death.

    lol.

Cer has some rlly nice gear though. For example Aquarious Belt in gf'ed but it was a druid belt that gave you an extra heal basically. Balance Druids i think are more useful as offhealers with ok dmg then pure dps

i was kinda looking forward to the rematch this morning until that other guy showed up.

In case you don't already do this, there are a lot of times when the best thing you can do once you get 5 combo points on someone is wait until your energy gets to 100 before finishing. That way you can get the 5 point finishing move plus 2 combopoint moves in rapid succession and the third comes quickly too. A lot of times that makes the difference in getting a kill versus the guy getting healed or otherwise getting away. It's the mid-fight burst that is otherwise hard to come by.

thanks. never thought about it that way.
