Once I'm fully geared I plan on hanging out here in my FC set. Not everyone will find this worth it, but I'm sure some serious Flag carriers will enjoy the tip.

don't you have to be level 24 to accept the quest?..and its Alliance only?

As of patch 4.06 there is a chest near the start of gnomeregan that contains these, letting you get these without the quests and also allowing horde characters to obtain this item. At the train depot turn left to the first instance, go past Murd Doc and the Mecha-Marines to the end of the hall. Its a small box on the edge of the Hall of Gears down the stairs to the right.(55:40) Hall of Gears.

Nope, no pet bar, but it acts like a combat pet. When I send my pet out to combat via petattack, the surveyor does the same. /petattack doesn't work for him alone, though.

Can you take the port from stv (horde only) to gnomer and have the chest right there? Think only 1 mob to really be a problem. At work so can't check.

Hmm, somewhere in Northern Barrens (I think...maybe Mulgore or something), there's a quest that gives you a summonable bird that flies around over you until the quest is complete. I can't find the quest now, but anyone remember it? I never paid attention to the bird...wondering if its like the surveyor.

Perhaps it's just me, but if I had an active Cata account I would just have to create a female Goblin and dress her up the same as Surveyor Jr. If it would be okay according to the naming rules, I'd call her ''Goblinsurveyor" as well.
Additional perks: she likes to attack from the back while you're attacking upfront, is very handy when doing low-level Quests as she can easily finish off mobs you've almost-one shot, does draw aggro from mobs and Dungeon bosses, and makes for more conversation than your average LFD Group.

So I can't for the life of me figure out how to get Custer Clubnik to offer me the Survey the Lakeshore. I'm confident I haven't done the quest already and even confirmed it with the Wowhead mod that tracks all your quests. Is Azshara phased in any way? If I look at the quests I haven't completed, there's several level 10 quests in that spot that I haven't done but can't see.
Since they're level 10, maybe its considered a Goblin starter quest and not available to non-Goblins???? (just guessing, can't think of any other reason).
