Random mount macro

[Holy Goats]

So I wanted to have a macro that would let me randomly mount one of the several mounts I had, so after a little working I made one that worked

/castrandom (your mounts separated by a comma)



e.g. say my mounts are Gray Elekk, Black Stallion, Striped Nightsaber, and the Unpainted Mechanostrider, the macro would be



/castrandom Gray Elekk, Black Stallion, Striped Nightsaber, Unpainted Mechanostrider

I remember someone posting a macro before that didn't involve typing out every name of every mount you own exactly correct. I can't recall what it was, but if someone collected a lot of mounts (exalted with all factions?) this would take a lot of time and tedious typing.



Does anyone recall the other macro for a random mount?



This is a great idea by the way! I play a paladin and it would be nice to ride something other than my warhorse haha

I found some really complicated stuff, dealing with flying mounts vs non flying, and whether or not you can fly in wintergrasp.



However, I just tried your macro (exact typing of my macro: /castrandom Brown Horse, Chesnut Mare, Pinto, Warhorse) and it didn't work for me. Is there something I am missing?

welll... you spelled "chestnut" wrong, but idk if that would make a huge difference

That macro does not really work for me, I do always get the same mount.

Do you have to change sth when your not playing with the english client?

Yeah that's the one that stopped working for me, but I forgot to fix the post when I changed it back.



It should be:

/run if not a then a = 0 end; a = a +1; if (a > (GetNumCompanions("MOUNT"))) then a = 1 end; CallCompanion("MOUNT", a);

(fixed the other page now)
