Lost and confused 70 rogue twink (in the making)

  • Hey guys! I am making my first 70 PvP twink and I figured a rogue would be a good toon to start with. Let me start off saying, the rogues that drop people in 3 seconds make it look easy! I am completly lost, not fully gear, probably specced badly and have an assortment of random enchants (gooses on both daggers) and all resil gems. While 33% damage reduction seems nice, it can't be helping be dispatch foes or my friend's pally, who has only been playing for 3 weeks! I need help guys, addons, tactics, spec, glyphs, gems and the like make me one lost puppy in the rain. Here is the character's armory link: Skalm @ Earthen Ring - Game - World of Warcraft

    sounds like a job for:

Hemo rogue? Please assume i know nothing about rogues, which isnt too far from the truth. I regemmed with placeholders since im strapped for cash atm, dont you need lv 75 to do cata eng recipes to try to get synapse springs (and to a lesser degree the spinal infusion)

don't make Rogue, it will make You suicide after 35 BT runs and 4 OFFhand drops!

    Dorino suicideeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Alright ill start by saying, take your time, dont rush, check every 70's rogue armory you find so that you get yourself a good idea about how things are.

Second, a hemo rogue is a rogue who either A has hemo ( talent ) and works with two daggers, either he was enought lucky to get main hand and off hand Warglaives From Illidan ( Black Temple Raid ) which are by fact deadly.

Here is my armory link : Nesyla @ Frostwhisper - Game - World of Warcraft

I do not pretend to be BIS geared ( best in slot ) but i have quite a nice gear, you can check my specs and how i played with my talents, do not use it as a " i need to do like him " , spec with whatever suites you best obviously.

If you have any other question just ask here or pm me.

Is 4piece t6 not needed for hemo spec anymore for the 6% increase to hemo?

Also why do I see alot of rogues use double mongoose or zerking? Shouldnt it be a weapon chain in offhand?

It should in teory, altough not many use it, which is a shame.

And yes 4 piece t6 is worth it.

Okay. And also what are the thoughts on using a Sonic Booster. It provides way more AP then other trinkets and gives 81 sta. Yet I see rogues using a madness of the betrayer or the other trinket instead of it.

Simply cause sonic booster internal cooldown is quite high from what i know, wile madness aint.

So if i get 4 peice t6, what parts would be the best? Mostly off peices so i still get the benefits of the resilience from the main peices or go for the primary parts such as chest and legs for the bonuses to hitting slightly higher paired with the set bonus? I see most rogues with the pvp chest, i assume this is because of the 3 sockets. Ill have to stick with dagger for now since i spent the money have put gooses on them, unless i get a glaive o/c. I have good luck with this sort of thing anyway, the OH glaive dropped my 1st time in BT and same story with thori'dal in sunwell. I wonder how many people ninjaed their glaives

How do you like me now? Skalm @ Earthen Ring - Game - World of Warcraft Ive been busting my balls for this and I have to say I'm pleased. I have a great stat stick bow, my T6 4 set on the off peices, I still have my Brutal 4 set. I am going to enchant and gem my new loot and go face wreck a bit so i can get a sword!

    Seems a lot better !

I would use the throw instead of bow tough, the pvp one till you get the pve one, as Throw, the skills, comes handy.

Thank you everyone! You guys have been a great help. I will be taking all of your advice into consideration. It seems what ill end up doing is shadowstep ambush/garrote hemo then bleed my enemy gouge/ kidney shot as needed to regain energy with a healy dose of back stab as well as ambush with SD on.:Horde:

Shouldnt it be a weapon chain in offhand?

This is what i advise, I think i'm probably the only 70 EU whom does this.

Keep a spare weapon in your bags (preferbly a bis brutal dagger - or go hardcore and get an extra crux) and enchant it with

    http://www.wowhead.com/item=41976/titanium-weapon-chain

It would also be useful to think of a good macro, but i just plonk my 2h on my action bars.

    I think some of the macros go like this /equipslot 16 {weapon name} - 16 is Main Hand, 17 is Off-Hand.

Then, whenever meeting a warrior/rogue or any other class which can disarm, equip this weapon intill they die / you, then switch back after.

I really find this very useful when meeting rogues/warriors in duels/bgs/arena and such.

    hopefully this helped!

4 piece T6 just isn't worth it PvP wise, if your doing PvE fine, but being dance and getting most of your damage output from dance using garrotes/ambush there's no real need for 5% backstab damage? Since T6 doesn't increase ambush..

Unless your hemo spec'd with swords/maces/axes/fist weps.

Without dance your role is to hold control and some pressure, not burst someone with backstabs, so I'd say 400-500 ap and 2% crit > 5% backstab damage which is roughly 150 increase on a crit vs normal resi..

    it's 6% backstab damage not 5%
