Why is Versatility the most valued stat at this level?

Everyone has the x2 gift of vers on the rings, neck, and cloak. I'm coming back from Cata so this stat is new to me it's apparently the best for all classes and specs? What does it do.

It gives you about 10% increase dmg and dmg reduction at the same time, better than haste/crit in most cases, works only outdoors

I think because you really won't get that much value from haste and crit at lower levels. You have fewer spells and more downtime.

Actually depends. But mostly it's because the other stats don't scale well at these levels. You simply can't stack enough haste, crit etc. for it to have the same impact as versatility.

Versatility also has the nice benefit of being a damage reduction, and increase your own damage at the same time.

So yeah "generally", versatility > other stats.

Also makes you heal more so yeah nice.
Haste kinda lost some of its weight when ele force had its proc rate nerfed but that's also s good stat

the split between dmg and dmg reduction is 100%/50% of vers value
    if your vers is 10%
    you get 10% dmg increase
    and 5% dmg reduction

vers is super boring though! i prefer to rock full crit enchants on my hunter with my full crit gear i have about 45% crit% maybe a bit less now in 7.3.5 but i forgot the numbers.. or crit/haste... love to see many crits and in pve as a hunter my pet takes most of the dmg... and since i can ressurect my pet faster then it can be killed i have not much use for dmg reduction on myself.. Haste reduces skill cooldowns which is also sick... i guess mostly for classes that can heal vers owns.

vers increases dmg, healing, absorbs, and decreases dmg taken by a tad
at low levels for anything outside most stack as much vers as possible

There are some exceptions depending on the class/spec. Destro locks and fire mages I think have extra incentives to stack crit. Survival hunters do so much base damage that haste to regen energy is probably better than verse. Glass cannon rogue specs might stack crit over verse and stam to focus on getting that huge opener.

But verse really works well in most wpvp cases. Though it's good to note that the neck enchant is often mark of the hidden satyr nowadays.
