Which BFA feature are you most excited for on your 70?

As the title implies, what part of BFA are you most excited for?

For me personally, I am excited that the stats template, as far as I understand in random bgs will be gone and warmode has given me the motivation to make a rogue after all these years. I am also excited for the Big BG que

i am excited for the pvp system as well, warmode looks like a whole hell of alotta fun

Should we expect to travel in our brutal gear for warmode? I have not figured out what to do gear wise for pvp yet since its been a few years since gear played a role

For world pvp you'll want to go for the best stats possible, ignoring ilvl. So probably no brutal gear.

Brutal gear would only be good for the resil and even then it’s effects are .0001% of what it once was. I’d shoot for some higher stam and higher stat socket pieces

Ah. Sounds like I'll be pulling out some of the old Amani gear from the vendors and a mix/match of stuff. sounds good to me!

I’m curious to learn more about this. At one point my toon had about 50% DR from resilience, but not even that stat addon aknowledges pvp resil’s existence. Is there a good source to see how resilience has changed over the years?

I’m pretty sure anything that tracks it will show it is more than useless. In lower brackets a few claim that it still works significantly, but I have tested it and it does not do anything at 70. And to answer your original question, no I do not know something that tracks it

Strange I tested it last year in a duel using a moonfire dot and it was actually significant damage reduction.
Can't remember exactly but I think it went from 150ish per tick to around 85ish per tick.
I will have to check numbers again but it is definitely still active even tho it dose not show up on any stat trackers.

If you’re or anyone else is on alliance, we could test it and post the numbers. Anecdotal evidence always drives me crazy. Just like how people were saying 78>79 and I had to level two separate toons to test it myself. If it comes to it, I’ll level something on my other account to figure this out.

Edit - Okay, situation is this. Character has 392 PVP resilience, assuming I'm not counting wrong. Only toon I could really use to test this was a level 91 paladin on my other account. My guess is this inflates the numbers in some way because how ilvl works in World PvP currently, but I'm not sure. And it really shouldn't matter as long as I'm comparing the same character each time.

Anyways, here's the numbers:

Without Resil (Naked): 400 hit, 600 crit

With 392 Resil: 234 hit, 350 crit

So definitely not insignificant. 41.66% here. But I do wonder if the levels affect how much % a higher level is actually penalized. I'm kind of thinking old school stats where your weapon ratings would be less effective per point if someone is higher level than you, so it could be interesting to see if there is a difference with equal level toons.

Anyways, I'll probably try to see what this armor even looks like on bfa beta, since that's where this matters. But I don't think I'll be able to test resil numbers there.

Edit - With bfa beta, resilience gems take the biggest hit of all going from 10 to 6, otherwise the rest of the gear drops anywhere from 0-2 points of resilience a piece.

Oh, I guess I had resilience flask buff on my pally- I didn't realize that. Add 24 resilience to my tests then...416 resilience.

Edit- Okay, so some more testing makes things a bit more baffling.

79 Hunter with 49 resilience provides about 9% damage reduction from level 91 Paladin
70 Paladin with 48 resilience provides about 3% damage reduction from level 91 Paladin

At first I thought this was due to item level making a difference, but with hunter being naked and then putting on 303 average Ilevel gear, this only mitigated about 2-3 damage from consecration when equipping it. If it were item level, lowering it by equipping brutal gladiator gear wouldn't have increased damage mitigation by 9%.

This then makes me think it's character level making a difference. Perhaps this is documented somewhere, or maybe I'm mis-remembering the past, because I thought, say 40% damage reduction from resilience always meant 40% even against higher level enemies. Maybe it always had a lesser effect from higher level opponents. Or perhaps they changed it somewhere along the way? Either way, resilience could potentially make a comeback in bfa if 41.66% is a reduced effect against a higher level enemy, that means I may even be more resilient against other 70s.
