whats your favorite gems?

I have an ongoing discussion with my selfs on my twink hunter, paladin and mage. should i go 2stam/2 int, agi, strength or pure 3 int, agi, strength? on a tank I get the 2/2, but on a dps spec... is the ekstra stam worth the dps loss? what are your toughts?

I would go with primary stat/stam in pvp. You can't boost primary stats elsewhere in your gear besides sockets and enchants. You can add better secondary stats from rings and trinkets than gem sockets.

Stam is pretty useful in random bgs. Scales well aswell so

int/vers on most casters, stat/stam on most melee seems to be the way people gear. And its what I prefer. My warrior feels very beefy and my casters certainly dont feel squish

Largely depends on your stat priority. For example on my priest I put int/haste in nearly all sockets because my off pieces are versa-heavy and I like a mix of haste and versa. If my offpieces were haste-heavy - I would've used int/vers gems. I usually place gems after everything else.

Currently using all +3 Agility gems plus a single +3Stam/+4Crit gem from Honor Hold. Debating on whether or not to grind out +2Agi/+2Stam because I'm not exactly lacking in the damage department.

I use str/haste on my Warrior because Haste is fun and I like it. I'm also currently running TG over SMF so I have enough stamina from the 2 handers to justify not using str/stam gems.

2 stat/stam is a blind pick for every class because it gets buffed in bg, 3stat is okay,2 stat/secondary is eh because they get nerfed in bgs and arena

2 stamina > 2 vers in terms of mitigation, just did some number crunching last weekend. You do lose out on the increased damage/healing from vers though.

They dont really get scaled on their own, main stats as a whole get buffed whereas secondaries get nerfed, the numbers i dont know exactly.

Yeah its not the gems themselves scaling but the BG bumping you up to level 29 instead of 20 so you get a slight bump to your primary stat and HP while subjecting your secondary stats to a harsher percent formula

Stam+Crit unique gem from Hellfire peninsuela with double 2/2 Int+stam in my weapon.
It's my perf balance-point atm for my Boomkin build

Do you feel level 10 Holy Priest is better off with full on +2 Int/Vers or +3 Int, cause i saw someone who was using +3 Int gems and was just wondering. It's purley PvE and attempting solo dungeons.

those are far easier to get because you just need marks of honor

I can get either from AH, so that's not really in question for me. I asked him what he had gem wise and he just said +3 Int. Didn't say why. Just figured as Holy most Int is best way to go.

I dont really know priests that well or level 10 at all. But you should do whatever Hvnter is doing.

He has int/vers, int/haste and int/stamina gems on his toon, but it's 19 iirc and he still has some 44 stuff atleast i believe when i looked at his armory. The 2nd Priest had all Int/Stamina. I don't have all my pieces yet, so i can't compare my stat layout to Hvnter and i thought our level difference might skew the % of the secondaries anyways.
