What program to use for video montages?

The title pretty much sums up my question. I've been recording some gameplay the past few days and I wanted to try and make a montage of it all. So if anyone could recommend a video editing program I would greatly appreciate it, thanks!!

After Effects is #1. Sony Vegas Pro.. is alright but costs hundreds and is arguably a bit worse than AE, you can get by with most programs tho like I used Filmora for mine if you've ever seen it, most WoW montages are typically rather plain so unless you wanna go full heavy edits you can use pretty much anything

I switched to online editors like Online Video Cutter and the likes. If you want a standalone app then CapCut is not a bad option, my opinion.
