Welcome Back Weekend, Jan 29th - Feb 1st.

Hi! Can you give an example of these gems? Is it the new meta?
Nope. I haven't even looked into which gems are available. I just know if you get one of the main stat gems and one of each color secondary one you can get a bonus off them, one possible one being a 10% movement speed. So if anyone has any better info feel free to post it.

The login issues seem to be fixed now. I was able to get on and could still use the warbank on NA a few minutes ago.

https://www.wowhead.com/item=213746/elusive-blasphemite due to the new speed cap, it is not worth the money; the normal TWW Gems are only secondary stats (for offensive) or stamina/secondary -- not worth it, in my opinion. But I have only tested it in a trice.

A cheaper and better alternative are Bloodstones, e.g. https://www.wowhead.com/item=213747/enduring-bloodstone

From what I have tested, only the highest versions with 12 Stats yield 5 stats for Level 20. The 10 Stats versions scale down to +4.

EDIT:
I have tested some combinations again, and the Blaspehmit with +2% speed is quite buggy and frustrating to use/test.
When I put the Blasphemit and two Algari gems in my chest, they do nothing, same constellation in my helmet and they add the speed (both items are 3 slotted by default BC items). But, depending in which order you equip other items with the stat "increase movement a little bit", it sometimes does not add all of the speed.

The bloodstone is straight forward. The Blasphemit is a buggy gold swallower, as every gem costs 1kg+ :POGGERS:

Edit2:
The Speed gained from Blasphemit+Algari Gems DO NOT stack with https://www.wowhead.com/spell=186257/aspect-of-the-cheetah.
The Speed gained from Blasphemit+Algari Gems DO stack with https://www.wowhead.com/spell=68992/darkflight.
The Speed gained from Blasphemit+Algari Gems DO stack with 10% on shoes, e.g. https://www.wowhead.com/spell=74252/assassins-step (of course, the 10% are ignored when using Darkflight...)

there's a cd after "real money" spent to the gametime. If it was really long ago - your acc may be demoted to starter. Game tokens aren't considered as a cd refresh.

I played around with https://www.wowhead.com/spell=435319/elusive-blasphemite a little bit and I can't get it to do anything other than +2 stats.

I think I need an instruction manual on these TWW gems...

EDIT:

I'm 99% convinced that the gem does not add any run speed whatsoever. It will add +2 stats on a level 11 (I'm using the cheapest one for the purposes of experimenting), but no movement speed. I equipped only one piece of gear that had only that single gem, gave +2 stats and didn't effect running speed at all, just a normal 100% movement speed.

Try to get a character to Dornogol because there will be a trader's outpost character spawning only there next month that will have old items on discount. Plus you will want to have a char there to explore once the free time is over.
If you have a lvl 68 or higher char, you can get to Dornogol via Twilight Highlands base camp. Even though I don't have TWW purchased, I already see breadcrumb quests to Karesh available. Normally this should unlock on Midnight launch?

I'm not sure what is the bare minimum to unlock TWW adventure mode so that F2P "alts" can have fully unlocked zones.

To test and understand it for yourself:
  • 1 buy the cheapest Blasphemite and socket it
  • 2 buy the cheapest Amber and socket it whereever you like
  • 3 if you cannot see 2% movement speed increase on your overall screen --> relog and check again
  • if it's still not shown, override the first Blasphemite and socket another one in other gear slot's socket and repeat step 1
This trial and error worked for me. Socketing blasphemit or the algari gems to my https://www.wowhead.com/item=24465/shamblehide-chestguard did nothing, so I switched to my helmet, bracers and shoes, where it worked as tooltip says. So you have to find the gear slot, where your Blasphemit will work (in this items, the algari gems will work, too).

Check if you have enough money to finally buy maxed out gems - otherwise you maybe will end up sacrificing too much useful stats/dmg for some neglectable movement speed increasement. Bloodstone will work 100% and is cheap.

Tried to use it on boots, no change in movement speed. Tried it in a ring socket, and legs; nothing there either.

If it was working as advertised it would be a net gain of movement speed over the SL gems in the same socket slots. Probably +10% movement speed vs around 5% for the equivalent of SL gems.

Player speed simply doesn't budge at all ATM.

Then it is presumably a problem with lv11 scaling I guess. Works for me, as described, with Level 20.

Also keep in mind, that these 2% do count to all "hard" %-gains in movement, like https://www.wowhead.com/spell=74252/assassins-step or https://www.wowhead.com/spell=264656/pathfinding. This %-gain is seemingly capped at one point, respectively won't stack anymore. SL-gems provide speed, which is converted to %-Movement on a different lane and goes on top, when the aforementioned already stopped stacking. In this new "era of slowness", I found 130% runspeed to be acceptable, which is accessible without too much of a hassle or stat waste (at least for agi-dps classes :ezW:).

I decided to some testing on a level 80, was able to get it working there for 3% movement with all of the gems in a helm.
Curiously the old 2% movement speed meta gem I had in another helmet didn't increase movement speed at all.

Tried to do the same on my level 20, wasn't able to get the movement speed to work there.

I'm also starting from 100% movement speed as a baseline for figuring out if something is giving me an increased amount or not.

I have tested and can confirm working Blasphemite in those 3-socket helmets from BC- Auchenai-Crypts: https://www.wowhead.com/item=27409/raven-heart-headdress and https://www.wowhead.com/item=27414/moknathal-beast-mask. I got two algari gems paired in the same helmet and they add the % speed.

If it's not working for you, maybe you are not in Elune's favour :PepeLaughW:

Well, It doesn't seem to show up in stats but using this macro /run local _,RunSpeed = GetUnitSpeed("player") print(string.format("Run speed: %f%%", RunSpeed / 7 * 100)) you find out your true speed :p Def adds movement speed

I do use the macro to figure out my movement speed. Just a mystery to me as to why it doesn't on my lower levels.

Alzo, this was the first time i tried crafting orders - great thing to get ez 200 points.

But what was really frustrating - xp gains. I didn't log to overcapped toons, and still - there was a gambling. Each time, logging to unlocked 20 with clean record, i held the breath. How much will i see on bars?
0 - mostly.
1-10k xp from nowhere? sometimes.
And the worst case, one char randomly had like 5% before - (thats why i remember its state exactly)
- bah, 90% at logon. Close call, i think i will never unlock this one not even for skirmish tp grind.

woo i have to brag a bit. was completing the last of the 1000 trading post points during the borrowed time about 11 minutes in. i collected the item and then got booted out 1 minute later
