so I am playing shadowlands but my main from bfa is this ret paladin

I was thinking of transferring it to a non sl account and using it in the 50s bracket, the gear i think is pretty good obv not bis but i do have drestgath hc trinket too, do we think its gonna be worth the money to move it to a 2nd account so i can play it in the xpon brackets?

If I could afford it I would be doing this, just not in the budget right now. If you DO plan on transferring check some of the other forums before you transfer, you might be able to pick up some cool covenants/professions from SL you can take with you. (nice gears too b.t.w.)

Your gear is great and pally is strong.
You have the bonus of being a tank/heal class too, so you have some pve twink potential. You can get instant queues in normal bfa dungeons 10-50. And heroic dungs too.
Since you are plate you probably are a blacksmith. On this toon if it was mine, I would personally farm out the pattern for the AtV flying mount crafted with Engi/BS. https://www.wowhead.com/item=153594/xiwyllag-atv You get the pattern by spamming heroic mechagon, leaving after kujo if it doesn’t drop. It’s a 1 hour queue for dps but 5 mins or less for tank. The flow of free expulsom crafting material, from scrapping 21 honor trinkets every time you cap honor from pvp, in combination with the rare mount pattern is huge passive gold making, with enough potential to become rich in wow if you decide to push more sales. You’ll have the expulsom to make 3 mounts every 20-30 bgs.

thanks for all the info @zazzyfraz, this mount farming is v v interesting to me haha, and i think you've now fully convinced me to go through with the transfer, im worried about doing any SL quests tho to get on to the threads of fate, i should be doing it before i transfer right?
I also sold all my bfa gear the other day for gold for my new main so i need to slowly restore them all, already started with my hc drestgath trinket. Going to be much easier to be op in this bracket rather than grinding all the way for 20s gear again haha

Yeah you will do threads of fate mode before you transfer. By doing the maw opener you get the option for the alt when you get into oribos after it.

maybe you can make a GM ticket, restores are pretty chill so they can probably help you skip the wait

Currently in the process of getting the toon ready for transfer, i have got my covenant ability, levelling engi rn, what is it that you'd recommend crafting? is it for the belt enchants or the usables?

For what it worth, I play my 50s every so often, while I'm still subbed and gearing my incoming lvl20 veterans toons (I dont have Shadowlands, not interested).

Gotta say, the bracket is fun. You get to play your toons with most of their kit. Queues are still fairly low (4 min alliance, 6min horde).

And I do well with most of my toons. The most geared (around 125) are very strong. But even on my enhance shaman (around 100) I still do fairly good, and that with me not having played the new enhancement much.

It's to the point where I wonder if I'm not gonna stay subbed and play the bracket

Plus, I'm gonna add. Since there isnt a crazy amount of twinks (that I saw), we can go and get some fun trinkets for more varied and interesting builds, since the toon will remain pretty competitive anyway.


Eidt : @zazzyfraz , would you know about any trinkets/rings like the ones you linked above, but BoE, available at 50 (and without Shadowlands)? I'm gonna start to look at the AH more, just in case.

There actually are some interesting BoE trinkets, that are totally viable especially if you don’t have high ilvl gear/new toon

I don’t know if these give less value in pvp, but it’s likely they do. These are from WoD, world drops. 49 could use them too, so it’s up to you if you decide to wear one on a 50.

Then, there is the epic boe trinket Scabard of Kyanos. No stats, ilvl 58, 113 strength on use. Also from WoD, but can be found lvl 50 instead of 48 like the blues. I have this worn on my backup warrior https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/stormrage/bannkington (if my covenant 50s become locked, i will swap to him.) I’m not sure if Copelands clarity, or lucky double sided coin can be found at 50. Those are the agi/int version of scabbard.

This is one of the shadowlands greens that can be found at ilvl 93, 50 required on most auction houses. It only drops in revendreth so it will be rarer. It can roll tertiary stat or a socket. I have one worn on my hunter here with mastery, it cost 15k on the stormrage AH. It’s worth using for a stat stacker like MM with the mastery stat. https://www.wowhead.com/item=168912/subroutine-optimization?bonus=0 is also super interesting. when it procs, it takes your Stat rating (stat points, not percent buffs) and redistributes them into the 2 secondary stats on your yellow card, at the ratio of the yellows stats. using this on my druid for example, with a vers mastery card, would put my haste and crit at 0 points. but moonkin aura is not stat rating, so i still can have 16% crit during optimization, same with effects like starlord, or drums/lust. i used this card in BFA to hit 300% haste on my firemage.
