Turning off XP + unsubbing?

Hey everyone!

I used to play as a vet in the 20-29 bracket years ago, but I wonder if anything changed in regards to turning off xp at 19 without an active sub?
Does the game still remove the lock once you unsub (means you ding until you reach 20), or can you keep doing bgs at 19 with the lock on?

no if you locked and let sub end you'll still be locked and unable to unlcok w/o gm assistance

locked f2p vets are also unable to queue bgs
