Trial name change attempt

Basically I want to change the name of one of my f2p twinks. I am going to attempt this by creating a big fuss in a series of tickets to blizzard saying that I want to have a character with the same name on my p2p account (which is under a different name) which may force a name change on my f2p character. Ill keep this thread updated as to my progress, if you guys have any tips or thoughts on the matter feel free to share them! I haven't yet wrote the ticket as I'm at work, so open to any trigger words or anything you guys might have, cheers!
 
delete char.
create char with same name.
ask for restored char.

or did u mean battle.net name?
 
make your name like coochikiller and say i didnt know that it was slang for something else and try to get it changed
 
Wow, had this same problem with some of my toons that have darkspear pride, I was going to just report the name with multiple other accounts to get it changed.

Deleting and restoring sounds like a good idea... Just makes me a bit nervous.

I'm guessing you don't do it often so not to cause suspicion?

Can't help but feel like it's one of those "someone has reported you away, type /afk" gags. ha.
 
They won't refuse to restore the character unless you deleted it several months ago. Even if they don't change the name, you still get it back with everything you had.

Sorry to be a nuisance, but is there any reason you need to put in the ticket?
such as "account compromised", or "deleted by mistake" ?

Have a bunch of accounts i'd like to rename under various names so i don't think it'd be suspicious, but if there's the security of DEFINITELY getting your character back name change or not, i think i'll do it
 
i deleted an ally, reused the name on same server/acc horde, restored the original a week or two later and got a name change. during 5.2

Tried this about a week ago and got a p2p friend to make the character for me with the same name but instead of me getting the name change, he did instead.
Might have to try it again

Yay now maybe people will stop accusing me of being a P2P cause I got a name change along time ago :cool:


Sometimes it takes more then 1 ticket and they CAN tell you they aren't going to restore your character actually [MENTION=10168]youakim[/MENTION]. It took me 3 or 4 tries I think (can't remember which) to get mine and on the last guy he said "Due to your quick action we will be able to assist in restoring your deleted character, Lillhunter, which we cannot always gaurantee in the future. However, someone else had already created a character with that name and you will be forced to change your name upon your next login, but thats a free name change! Your character should be waiting in the character selection screen."

Not all GMs are dumb and not all are mean but when you meet a smart nice one it's a nice change of pace lol

I tried doing the namechange just yesterday. Resubbed my paying account for those 17 free days, deleted my trial, made a lvl 1 with the same name.

Then I even leveled that lvl 1 to 3. Submitted a ticket. Unfortunately they returned my trial with the same name, and the lvl 3's name got changed,,,I had an alt code in my trial's name and instead the lvl 3 got a bunch of mumbo jumbo letters in the place of the alt code...

Do it again. Same happened to me twice but they eventually gave the change to my trial
 
For this to work you need to make sure you log into the P2P character. Also, making a DK has gotten me several. I think they push the name change for the lower level toon.
