first of all, the bad things about 20-29:
1, the 8min queue time, which isn't too bad if you have toons on both factions.
2, PvP is quite bursty, although it is getting less bursty as time passes because people are realizing that the highest burst classes (warlock, for example) may not have the best PvP experience because they are a one trick pony.
now, why i think you should play 20-29:
1, fun builds. if warrior healer is viable, almost everything can be viable.
2, close games do happen, and they happen more often than you think! these happen when both sides have equal number of twinks, or when one side has x good twinks, the other side has y slightly inferior twinks where y > x. but people still premade, so don't be surprised if you play 10 games back to back and 8 of them are all one-sided
3, really easy to gear. you can level to 29 in less than 5 hours. it also helps greatly if you have a 60 and can solo bosses for two drops (i can do it on my warrior)
4, people are still trying things out and new OP specs are being discovered, for example, WW monk is a very good class and can carry games more than hunters can, based on what I have seen.
5, more balanced. it is a rock paper scissors meta, not a hunter vs non-hunter meta like the 20-29 bracket before the queue separation. right now, based on what i can see, there is no clear Tier S besides WW monk being extremely versatile (but also extremely hard to play), a good player can make any class work really well in specific situations.
6, it will get a lot more popular when WoTLK frenzy dies down a bit (50% of WoW players on my friend list are on WotLK at any given moment right now), but you should start gearing your toon today to prepare for DF.
Good luck and have fun! (this is literally the most fun i have had since times like this, the only difference is that, back then i could sit for many hours straight and get adrenaline rush from those 2 hour games, now i have a busy life and often have to go AFK, but the games are fast paced enough that I still get adrenaline rush from time to time!)
