Talents Preview Discussion [w/ Calaculator Link]

Fingers crossed for combustion or Dragons breath for fire.
Looking at talent trees so far it would make sense if fireblast, frost bolt and arcane explosion would be first picks from mage talent tree especially that those are spells shared among spec. So from frost bolt you would build frost nova, from arcane it would be polimorph, and fire blast...? Maybe they will move dragon's breath to core mage tree and that would be the way to obtain it? I can't imagine what else could be built in the mage tree under fire blast

Aren't these 3 baseline pre 10?

looks like rogues got the 8-point requirement nerf, quite sad, subterfuge gone, shadow blades for sub, stealth garrote for assa etc

Yeah not only does barbed shot not say if it gives 20 focus anymore but it looks like it might only have 1 charge. 2 charges from the talent 'loaded quiver'. Losing a charge of barbed shot is a pretty big dps loss :<

Yep, so the beta spells are on wowhead now and https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=217200/barbed-shot only has 1 charge, but it does still generate 20 focus. Ouch, will need to spend 2 talent total points to unlock it and get it on par with where it is now

wild. do you think we can expect a similar decrease in available "tiers" across the board? Or is it just for rogues?
We're yet to see other trees. Tho I hope druid remains untouched because that build changes the playstyle by 180° from what it is in sl

It seems https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=328021/improved-eclipse is now a 2 points node making https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=194223/celestial-alignment or https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=191034/starfall unobtainable along with https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=202430/natures-balance

Fingers crossed. Removing a full tier of talent options removes a lot of interesting choices and forces more homogeneity on the bracket. Trees give us such an opportunity for a rich variety of builds, I'd be sad to see that lessened.

Nerf to Rake Stun being a 2 pt talent in Feral Tree and removing the +damage to shred which was in the talent.

I don't expect the Rogue stuff to stick as it is. It would be weird if they only had 3 rows of talents while all other classes had 4. More likely, I think they'll cut back to 1 root node on the spec tree and redistribute the other 2 points lower in the tree. EVERY other spec tree released so far only has 1 root node while Outlaw has 2 and Subt has 3. I would also expect some 2/3 point talent to find it's way into the rogue trees to slow progress to the 4 row and 8 point cutoff line.

While I think that is the most likely case, it sure would be a lot more fun to just give the other classes more choice by having 2-3 root nodes in their spec tree.

The evoker tree looks really strong. Lots of interesting Utility including a BLEED dispel! R.I.P feral druids excited for finally getting Rip.
