Sunreaver Onslaught Tabard / Kirin Tor Offensive Tabard

Has anybody gotten one of these tabards or is going for them? They require Sunreaver Onslaught and Kirin Tor Offensive to be exalted respectively. To get the rep, you first have to go to the Isle of Thunder by being summoned, then talking to an NPC to get the faction added to your reputation tab. Horde are automatically allied with the Sunreavers and Alliance to the Kirin Tor.

From there you have to run weekly random dungeons while championing the faction. Once you get exalted you go back to the island and purchase the tabard for 8g. This is the only way to get reputation with these factions.

I am currently 500/12000 into Honored this way, albeit I am linked to my main account so I benefit from the Grand Commendation of the Sunreaver Onslaught bonus rep. This doubles the reputation I get from weekly dungeons from 300 to 600, so I can reach exalted in about a year (DMF reputation buffs also allow me to reach 660 reputation per dungeon).

Finally, there are battle standard toys for Horde and Alliance, with both requiring exalted and can be obtained through a quest. The only way to get them on an F2P is to be linked and do the quest on your main level 90+ which requires going into a raid and being exalted your faction.

Seems like a complete waste of time. The only faction I'd invest a year in is Anglers for the raft on my twink.

How can you gain rep for Anglers since you can't do the quests nor turn in the special fish to Nat (for his rep)? Or were you talking hypothetically?

That's why they would be seldom seen and symbolic of being a veteran player. Considering some people have been playing F2P for 4 years now, I don't think a weekly dungeon now and then for a year and a bit would be considered 'overboard' by most of us here. The Sunreaver tabard, in my opinion, is the best looking tabard F2P have access to.

Hozen peace pipe used to not have a level requirement right when mists launched, so technically it is possible if a twink used it before the patch. But back then f2ps didn't have access to pandaria anyway, so it's impossible on a f2p.

Can you explain how a level 20 vet could get rep with this faction? There is no way to gain rep AFAIK other than dungeoning.

Err, what? You can champion Anglers just like most other Pandaria factions. Just talk to an npc to make yourself familiar with the faction, then run a random dungeon for the weekly rep. The raft doesn't even require you to be exalted.

The real problem is that it costs more than 10g and that it requires (now gfed for starters) 525 fishing skill.

I interpreted his question as what are other ways of gaining anglers rep, to which I responded it is impossible any other way.

***-Hulk Gulkan and Skumblade Pillager? Those two are both inside the instance/scenario though, but if there's a trick to getting keys still and getting inside the scenario, I'd love to know

The very same people that think fun things like this are a "waste" of time may even think WoW as a whole is a "waste" of time.

OT,
Unless something has changed you cannot grind out MoP rep in instances in a single day.

None of it.

The papers to purchase the the insignias drop from mobs from an area that you need an access with an item that no longer drops.
Thus, the insignias are effectively grandfathered unless you break Blizzard's ToS.
