Srsly - Why are the ques so long

Ever since WoD the ques have been so long, i though it was because of the expac but that hype has been over for ages. The ques are still 15+ mins, when it used to be as fast as end game. Whats GOING ON!

I wonder the same thing. I'm certain it isn't die to lack of ppl queuing and since both factions complain equally imbalance doesn't seem to be the driver either.

You can do some stuff to "sometimes" mitigate like excluding gilneas and av from random then queuing whatever you want specifically but it's still long most of the time (occasionally it will work quickly for a couple hours).

I'm fortunate that I have two accounts do I have my 29 off to the side waiting for pops while I do something else. Without that i wouldn't play 29 nearly as long....no fun waiting an hour sometimes.

Skirmishes, more BGs, AV takes 80 instead of 20-30 for WSG or AB with the size of playerbase this bracket has, logically equals longer queues.

BTW are you queueing random with AV and TM vs SS blacklisted and WSG specific? Queueing like that I get about 5-8 min pops (usually WSG) in the evenings.

Same, I'm waiting 6-8 mins also depends on what day & the time of day. Real id friends who que often let me know of short ques thru the day. Also thanks to all the new real id friends I have played with the last 2 weeks.

Good we don't have IOC, that pops too much at endgame and it half your team will be bots.

Queue times are directly affected by the number of people in the queue at any given time. Considering the fact that Queue times are much longer, one can conclude there are fewer people queuing.

Not entirely accurate. The system holds off on launching certain battlegrounds in favor of launching other battlegrounds, such as AV. This causes increased queue time even though it could launch other battlegrounds and get the players into bgs faster.

This would be why the queues have remained similar and somewhat lengthy since 6.0 hit.

Fewer people does lead to increased queue times however, and I would assume that some of the population has quit for a variety of reasons.

Skirmishes are another major contributor to the lengthy queue times.

I used to blackout AV and Battle of Gilneas. Now I blackout AV and Tarren mill. While I que wsg & random. Ques are always pretty fast. .

another thing. I have been in groups while ques are long. Your think dayum having 5 makes ques long. Not really your lead may not have AV blacked out. Thus fubaring your entire group. Lol

just my 2 cents.

I do the same, but it also varies depending on what time it is.
I can tell you that at 4-6 am CST you can be on que for like 1 hr (or more) and bgs will pop once in a century.
At 10pm-2am queues are kinda fast :D

There's plenty of people queueing in this bracket given both 29's and f2p. It's the other explanations and possible bugginess causing it.

As much as I would like to believe that the purge is showing results the simple truth is AV screws ques, skirmishes also remove players from the ques.

I queue WSG and Gilneas specific. Queue times could be better, could be worse.

Btw, every serious 29 twink should queue specific for gilneas anyways.... I feel like I am the only one who thinks playing vs. 10 equally geared twinks on the same level is more competitive and enjoyable than blowing f2ps away.
Since Gilneas pops sometimes during the day even though this queue system is completely fucked, imagine how many fast gilneas pops you could have if everyone queue for it specific...

Just started playing again last week of Christmas break, when WOD first got launched , I was pushing blacklist AV and do AV on Sundays after Fishy tournament. I was getting 4 AVs a Sunday with 15-20 mins in between pops. Spreading it thru F2p and p2ps. It also helps f2p with their achievements.

1 Because you are a twink. Twinks have xp turned off, either willingly such as a paid account at level 29 or a F2P account, capped at level 20 by blizzard. XP off players are queued separately, so your twink will not be face rolling some player that is leveling via bgs. Now, since there are a lot fewer twinks than there are regular, leveling, players, the queues are longer. The shortest queues are in the 20-29 bracket, because this is where the F2P players are put. F2P counts as xp off bracket at level 20.

And as mentioned, time of day, server pop and number of people playing at a give time also affect queue times.
