I can confirm it is legitimate.
He just showed it to me in-game.

Just thinking about all those delicious World Epics and wondering how many can scale down and how far... Makes me wonder if The 1 Ring can scale down to Level 1/5/9 since there's no 'Scales with Level' option on Wowhead.
 
According to wowhead, the only NPC that drops this item and is located in world is Twilight Avenger in Silithus.
If i remember it correctly, they were scaling 54-x according to your level even before world scaling. People were making DK twinks just for farming these guys and made nice money on transmogs.

Multiboxer brought a shit ton of lvl 1s to silithis, by the time one of the alts dinged lvl 8, boom skullflame.

Then sold it for xmog price.

Literally my only theory.

Another thing I have to bring myself to spend countless hours farming for to have on my F2Ps.

But if you buy multiple accounts, you get 110 boost for free on each account. Running low levels just for transmogs seems unlikely to me.
Yeah - 86.5k is fair transmog price

If you had extra accounts, and a way to keep more lvl 1s safe, for extra chances at mog, wouldn’t you take the opportunity?

Also remember silithis is available for classic account. This all gets me a little riled up and maybe make 3 other accounts with 19s of class I’m wanting pieces on + my account with my 19 + 5th account with runner like monk and disappear for a few months. lol

Some "Twink-equip-farming bots" are the most likely involved here.
Maybe they were automaticaly selling stuff for average prices and yeah..
 
Another theory would be out of pure dumb luck, that odd scaling through multiple toons at different levels mentioned previously on this post is at hand.

For example:

Dude had a 8 warrior on one account, 18 hunter on another, 28 rogue on another, then 38 druid on another and his main account the farmer, and he just wanted to maximize his efficiency, so brought them all.

I know this is a super stretch but this is the only PROVEN way to get items like these to scale this low, and that scenario playing out with the guy and his accounts is plausible.

Lowbies also can't get in dungeons where these things drops, so it is most likely world drop.


That farming - I was thinking about similar farming tactic on shadowfang:
1. make 4x F2P acc
2. make a group with high level leader while F2Ps follow and loot corpses
3. farm lvl 20 SF 4x faster
4. activate account you got SF on and trade it

Worth it? I don't think so, but it would be better with these items :D

I was reading exploring thread of one F2P, where he was exploring Deepholm (lvl 85+) and some guard killed a mob, he accidently pulled. He looted some gray shit from it.. So yeah, you can
