Can this drop from Admiral Ripsnarl in Normal Deadmines, or do I have to farm humanoid mobs?

Update: Found a pretty good farming spot and managed to get both a red and green winter hat from it.
Dragonmaw Whelpstealer in Wetlands spawn very, very quickly and run towards the same spot each time. I'd reccomend having a high level toon with you since they can cast a Disorient (3 second stun) that can be a bit annoying at low levels.
The nice thing with this spot, other than a chance at a winter hat, is the zone wide drop of the Tiny Crimson Whelpling.
The spot I farmed is right around: 67.23, 47.22

They do. And I find having a BM monk w/ the Ox Statue is great for that spot. Unfortunately I don't have a high level monk, so I found this spot in Wetlands super easy because the mobs would just run right to me.
