Recruit a Friend Question

Hello

Is it possible to obtain the 12 Months recruit a friend reward on a F2P account (I know there is a Wowhead guide on this topic)?

Can you do this WITHOUT adding game time to your account to stay as a pure F2P whilst still getting the transmog or would I have 120 days worth of game time added?

Should be able to do it as f2p. The rewards are earned through other accounts subscribing.

When I did it, I didn't have to put any time on my account. You do have the option to redeem a few months of gametime on whatever account you want but it's not automatic so you can use them whenever and on whatever account you want.

The UI looks to be able to redeem rewards but I was unable to get to the generate recruit link on my f2p through the button that's available on subbed accounts.

There might be some script you can do to pull it up or some way to generate it via the website but I'm unaware of them.

I guess the inviting account might have to have an active sub at the moment of the invite.

There is a simple solution: add a new account, pay on that account for a month, use that new account to invite a third account, pay there for a month or however long you want to get the rewards. Your f2p account will get the rewards because it's on the same bnet account, and it will stay f2p.

Additional costs: one month of gameplay time.

No account on the bnet can have gametime at any point to stay pure f2p, adding time makes you linked
