Pure F2P profession restrictions lifted

Chops

Soccer Dad
Forgive me for not making a bigger deal out of this when I saw it, but I figured a) I was probably the last to learn about it anyway and b) if I wasnt, I wanted to make sure it was actually fully true before I said anything and got peoples hopes up.

But!

I have to force myself not to come back at this point. I would like to keep that chapter of my life closed, but damn if I’m not jealous of all the fun
it took 24 hours, give or take, to get from 1 to 300 enchanting and I boosted most of the dungeons for mat farming on my main. Its the kind of grind thats right up your alley.

ilvl 49 artifact gang!
good job with enchanting man
haha ty. I've lost a lot of sleepy lately.

Got ele force on my pure f2p, how do you get to 300 for vanilla enchanting tho? i cant seem to queue for vanilla dungeons outside of chromie time.

There are more than a few ways to get to 300 and you dont ever have to que for a dungeon if you dont want to. You can just go tailoring/enchanting together and just farm cloth. Thats all I did, I just boosted through Strath with my main to speed up the Righteous Orb farm.

Everytime someone talks about "F2P profession restrictions" I get a stressing moment where I always read "F2P professions restricted back to 100" ... everytime .....

Does this mean pure f2ps have no restrictions on professions and can get everything a vet can enchant wise?

yep. There are some things that are going to be a fucking pain. For instance, F2P str users have to level to 300 vanilla enchanting to get crusader. Wrath enchanting is where most of the good enchants come from and farming anything in wrath is a chore. Mark of the Hidden Satyr will obviously be a nightmare, as are top level ring enchants.

I *think* the only thing F2P cant do (enchants wise) is the old glove reinforcements. But I havent actually confirmed that. Wowhead says req lvl 25 but tooltips being what they are these days...

Right now, the only difference between pure F2P and Vet is the high ilvl azerite shoulders/helm. And F2P who jumped on those quest rewards before they got nerfed should see themselves looking a whole lot like vets.

looking from the outside: F2Ps may be virtually indiscernible from vets at this point.
the street cred of pure F2Ps who ARE, in fact, indiscernible from vets has just skyrocketed, though.
looking @ you, https://www.wowhead.com/spell=190894/mark-of-the-hidden-satyr, https://www.wowhead.com/spell=62256/major-stamina, https://www.wowhead.com/spell=297993/accord-of-versatility, https://www.wowhead.com/spell=20034/crusader.

While, yes, F2Ps have been given alot more freedom as of late, I would say the most damaging difference would be the lack of Chromie LFD for new F2P players, meaning it will also be very difficult for them to get the Gemmed BC/WOTLK gear that is available to older F2Ps/Vets

As a pure F2P who has been farming the mats for Hidden Satyr since pre-patch dropped, it is NOT necessarily the same as being vet lmao.

They're virtually gated for us.

ya'll, f2p nerds need to calm down. i'm in the same grind-boat as you. ;)
wasn't referring to the actual work it takes to gear them, but what they LOOK like from the outside perspective.
hence this part:
looking from the outside:
GL with the grind. :)
