Lover of life, pvp and consumables! ;)
THIS IS A ROUGH DRAFT BASED ON CURRENT NUMBERS.
PLEASE USE CAUTION AND DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.

I don't want someone to come nerdrage on the forums or in game or on my stream saying how I am totally stupid and ruined their toons by posting this. So please, don't make me punch myself in the dick or shit purple twinkies. Use your common sense and we all will find our inner peace as we PWN SOME NUBS in SL <3 ( I am sure I will be on the receiving end of that PWN but Im used to it!) This guide is for the people that are gonna carry my ass again, I mean, hey, I need my homies to be geared af so I can send them to the front line as I run away as fast as I can letting them be the sacrifices!! Hello, have we met?

WITH THAT BEING SAID...........

If level 120s are going to become level 50 in Shadowlands then:
50/120=0.41666 or 41.666% scaling reduction

Some of the numbers don't seem to add up but I went way past the decimal,
as in the case of level 10 in SL needing to be level 24.000 now.
10/41.666%=24.0003840061441
So technically, a 0/49,540 XP level 24 should become level 10 in SL
... - - - ... BUT ... - - - ...
If you take just the first 3 after the decimal you get :
24.000*41.666% you get 9.99984 hence NOT level 10

This explains showing level 10 in SL needing to be level 24.000 but (20/49,540) XP needed now to be at the beginning of level 10 in SL.

49,540xp*.0003840061441=19.023664378714xp, I rounded to 20 to be safe.
I just don't want someone to follow this and gear their toon out and end up
as a level 9 in SL and have to regear their toon. (ASSUMING THIS MATH
IS HOW THEY ARE GOING TO FIGURE LEVELS OUT)

The reason I say lock xp at the beginning of the target level is because that gives you room to breathe if you want to try some xp on stuff later without risking punching one mob and dinging.

To get to target XP, when you get fairly close to it, use the xp reduction debuff from having someone in party with locked xp (make sure they are within range in the same zone to have the debuff on without a timer) or removing heirlooms or killing mobs 5-9 levels lower than you if you can bypass the zone scaling (ie. a lvl 24 killing in the 1-20 zones) etc etc to really nail it down to the sweet spot of your target XP.

NOW, on to the business at hand... not that business you pervs! Get your game face on! Hand off the joystick and back on the keyboard! I know we are all excited for what may come in SL but come on , contain yourselves!

================================================

Column 1 is for GEAR ONLY and shows, that if they are going to round gear to the nearest level and someone wanted to pre buy or grind the appropriate gear for SL levels, then it assumes:

level 23-25 gear in BFA will become level 10 gear in SL.
23*41.666%=9.58318 ~ 10 (if rounding <>50%)
25*41.666%=10.4165 ~ 10 so all gear now Level ( NOT IL but REQUIRED LEVEL) 23-25 should scale to Level 10 in SL. (again assuming this is the method they will use)

IF they scale anything over .0 to the next level and only round up then this will change of course so keep up with the changes as you see them posted by the community as time gets closer.

ALSO, if they decide to level gear according to Item Level, like Item level 27-44 will be level 30, then column 1 is of course useless, just as this whole guide may indeed become, as things get revealed.
Please remember, THIS IS JUST A PRE THEORYCRAFTING GUIDE FOR IDEAS. NONE OF THIS IS BASED ON LEGITIMATE INFORMATION GATHERED FROM A BLIZZARD INSIDER, IT IS ALL PURELY GUESSWORK OF MINE <3

================================================

Column 2 goes hand in hand with the 3rd, 4th and 5th for cross-referencing.

Use the 2nd column to choose your desired level in SL and the 4th column to assist with what level you need to be now to get to the column 2 target.

So, in the (SLa) colum if your toon is 20 now in BFA and you don't change anything then it will become (in SLb) a level 4 toon.

===============================================

If you want to use (SLa) to figure out desired level in SL then reference it with column 4 (N2BN) as a guide to level your toon to now and gear up if you desire.

A) To see what level you need to be now for a certain level in SL, DIVIDE level by 41.666%
ie: 49 in SL will have to be 49/41.666%=level 117.6018816301061 now.
just use the decimal and beyond for figuring out the xp into level 117 needed. In this example it would be the .6018816301061

Then cross-reference with this chart to get the XP needed to make sure you hit target level of 49 in SL by looking at current needed level xp ie: 117-118 on the google docs chart linked below.

MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE 8.1 COLUMN for the XP number.

View media item 1050

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...HCN-OuOUeG1VJRMlOao5VZ2wnf9ut3_3Nr9-i/pubhtml

Then multiply the appropriate level XP max number, in this case level 117-118 = 872,550xp by the numbers after the level in solution A) , in this case .6018816301061 and round the answer up.

So 872,550*.6018816301061=525,171.81 ~525,172 xp into level 117 now, is your MINIMUM xp target to be level 49 in SL.
================================================

If you want to see what level you will be in SL if you dont level, simply MULTIPLY your current level by 41.666% Example. you are Level 69 now. 69*41.666%=28.749574 or approximately 3/4 of the way through level 28 in SL.

================================================

FOR THE RECORD!!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND LEVELING ANY CURRENT TWINKS.
PLEASE USE CAUTION LEVELING ANY TWINKS.

I RECOMMEND MAKING A NEW TOON, LEVELING IT TO TARGET AND GEARING IT.

UPDATE EDIT #1
PLEASE REMEMBER, THIS IS STILL A ROUGH DRAFT!! THIS IS AN EDIT FROM NEW INFO TO ME.
DO NOT USE THIS TO LEVEL YOUR TOONS YET, IT IS JUST FOR THEORYCRAFTING.
IT ASSUMES A CONSISTENT SLIDING SCALE.

EDIT, if 20s will be 10s, as seems confirmed then the sliding scale would look something like this:
120~50= 41.666%
20~10=50%

we seem to have now a starting and ending number we can work with to make a rough draft of what the sliding scale may look like

50%-41.666%=8.334%/100Levels=.08334
((.08334X(BFAlevel-20))+41.666

so we remove the first 20 levels from the equation then add it back.

so for the sake of figuring out a BFA 29 we only use 9 (9 levels over 20)
because we know that a 20 will be 10 and that is 50% which is our starting point for our sliding scale.
We only have 2 defined numbers to work with so far. 120 will be 50 and a 20 will be 10.
so from 20@50% and 120@41.666% we subtract 20 from 120 (100) and 41.666% from 50% (8.334%)
then divide the 8.334%~ by 100 levels 8.334/100=.08334% per level OVER 20

so a 29 might get (.08334X9=.75006)+41.666=42.41606% scaling
so a 29X42.41606%=12.3006574 is roughly 1/3 level into Level 12 in SL

and a BFA 39 would be (39-20=19)*.08334=1.58346+41.666=43.24946% scaling
so 39X43.24946%=16.867 or a little over 3/4 into level 16 in SL~ almost 17

Even if this is true, it would have to further be changed if they calculated your current % in level.
In other words, if you are 50% into level 39 in BFA, it could be 19.5X.08334=1.62513+41.666=43.29113% to get level refined so you don't underestimate and overshoot your target.
or... 39.5X43.29113%=16.883, not far from the 16.867 in this case but if they do add the % of current level to the scaling then it could make a difference if the target level is close to the level threshold.

this assumes a consistent sliding scale, they may indeed do a %/5 levels kind of thing and this will further be changed as I find out when someone gets beta and confirms the conversion scale.

so to understand this theory of mine we can reverse the math to see what level we need to be now for a given level in SL .... IF this method holds true.

using the same math in reverse with 50 levels and removing the starting 10 levels leaves us with:
40
if a level 10 is 50% and a level 50 is 41.666% but there are only 40 levels instead of 100 we will get:
8.334/40 = .20835 per level over 10 up to 50
so a Level 19 in SL would be (19-10=9)X.20835=1.87515
now we start at 50% for level 10 and work our way DOWN to 41.666% for level 50
50%-1.87515%=48.12485%
SL Level 19 / 48.12485%=39.48064253706765 or almost 50% into level 39 in BFA

with the same math:

SL Level 29 (29-10=19)X.20835=3.95865
50%-3.95865%=46.04135%
29/46.04135%=62.98685855214932 or 98.7% (round up to 99%) into Level 62

so in this THEORY, if you are wanting to be 29 in SL you need to be 98.7% into level 62 in BFA

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...HCN-OuOUeG1VJRMlOao5VZ2wnf9ut3_3Nr9-i/pubhtml

To further exact the XP, use the current xp for level 62-63 from the chart X 98.685855214932%
in this case it is 161,890 xp needed to get from 62 to 63
161,890 X 98.685855214932%=159,762.5310074534 ~ 159,763 XP into Level 62 in BFA should land you at level 29 in SL.

Hope this is right, if you have any edits or if I did my math wrong please let me know.
Sincerely , Somfas

EDIT #2 Linear and Logical and Simplified

=====================================================

ok now I feel a little dumb.. if it is indeed that a current 20 is 1/6 of 120 and they will become level 10 which will be 1/6 of 60 then we should be able to assume this really easily, IF this holds true then the math becomes so simple. Yes I have a tendency to complicate shit.

take current level and divide by max Level of the BFA (120)

example 29/120=0.2416666666666667‬

then multiply the max level of SL (60) by the answer

60 X 0.2416666666666667‬ = 14.5
so a 29 BFA will be 14.5 SL

we know 20s will be 10s so lets do the math for that example

20 / 120 = 0.1666666666666667‬

60 X 0.1666666666666667‬ = 10

basically we are just staying with the 1/6 scale

and reverse it for needed level to convert from SL to BFA

so for a 19 in SL we need to be 38 in BFA

19 / 60 = 0.3166666666666667‬

120 X 0.3166666666666667‬ = 38

Shoutout to Chops for making me think and rethink different equations, this last edit is assuming a linear scale but maybe they will indeed keep it that simple lol, yeah right. more to come. Somfas

Saw this Reddit post about raid levels yesterday.
Edit: Beaten by a few hours.

My buddy linked me this. You can check yourself on your own armory. No idea when these got changed

tldr: on armory pages some raids have low requirement.
20
Black Temple
Ulduar

25
Firelands

35
Emerald Nightmare
Trial of Valor
Nighthold
Tomb of Sargeras

I guess the ideia seems to be:
  • New Starting Area: 1-10
  • Classic: 10-15
  • TBC / WotLK: 15-20
  • Cata / MOP: 20-25
  • WoD / Legion: 30-35(?)
  • BfA: 35-50(?)
At least that would be the final "real" level range for the zones after your reach max level. When levelling everything should be at your level.
