PTR Our own Shadowlands Alpha Q&A

So, I was luckily called to test the Shadowlands Alpha! If any of you want to ask something, I will check if any changes were made and try to post screenshots to proof it.

1. Classes

1.1. Hunters at Exile's Reach learn Tame Beast after doing a quest, at ~ lvl 4. Some other spells work the same way, like Divine Shield and Polymorph.
1.2. Your "Get +5% Stats if you wearing the correct armor" spell is bugged. Leather requires lvl 27, but Cloth, Mail and Plates require lvl 50.

2. PvP

2.1. Normal Battlegrounds available at lvl 10. Epic Battlegrounds at lvl 20.
2.2. Only Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin available at lvl 10.

3. Zones & Dungeons

3.1-A. I made a spreadsheet of the new Zones and Dungeons' levels (Last update in 03.07.20).
3.1. Edited: Many dungeons of all expansions are unlocked at lvl 10.
This includes Classic, TBC, WotLK, Mists, WoD, Legion and BfA (Credits to @Kórnikus20 and @Reidor)

4. Professions, Riding and Items in General

4.1. Fishing and other Professions and its expansions skills can all be trained at level 5.
4.2. Various profession items can be crafted with different level requirements through the "Relics of the Past" system.

4.3-A. Items from Kul'tiras and Zandalar are able to proc gem slots for low levels.
4.3-B. Low levels can gem their items.
4.3-C. Most of gems still retain the present item level requirements and their scaling is reasonable, except for selected non-crafted ones.

4.4. Pandaria's legendary cloak requires level 35.

4.5. Riding Skills:
- 60% Ground Mount requires level 10.
- 100% Ground Mount requires level 20.
- 150% Flying Mount requires level 30.
- 310% Flying Mount requires level 40. (Credits to @Kórnikus20 and @Reidor)

5. Tech

5.1. The game can dynamically decrease graphics to increase FPS if it drops bellow a certain number ("Target FPS").
5.2. You can chose to hide non essential spell effects by set amounts (I believe it removes proc effects and spell impacts from other players).
5.3. You can disable AoE looting.

6. Other

Spoiler

6.1. NPCs move their heads to look at you when close.
6.2. Default Male and Female Night Elves likely get new hair colors, possibly the DK ones.
6.3. Artifact Weapons and items from Battle for Azeroth and previous expansions are 'moggable by lower levels.
6.4. The NPC that turns XP-off is on the Alpha.
6.5. Can a level 10 kill and loot Zandalari Warbringers?
Likely not, as both Warbringers and Scouts have a skull level and don't downscale at this time.
6.6. Corruption is said to be removed entirely during Shadowlands prepatch.

7. Lists of questions I will try to answer and provide proof:

7.01-B. Is it possible to escape Exiles Reach?
7.01-C. Can low levels enter BfA dungeons through the entrance?
7.02. Do Raids scale and are available at lower levels similarly to Dungeons?
- No. All their items have set level requirements, as the ones seen in posts at Wowhead etc.

7.03. Which are the Brackets for PvP?
7.04. Are non-tier set bonuses working (Vanilla DGs, Professions etc.)?
- Some, most likely the ones that work in Retail (Devilsaur, Slither-scale, Fang, Whitemend, Spellfire, Frostwoven, Dustweave, Frostsavage). Most likely not final.

7.05. Are XPOff and XPOn two different queues?
7.08. Can quest rewards upgrade to epic and what is the ilvl difference?
7.09. How sockets and gems interact with scaled gear?

Once again, let's see how to terribly break this game apart.

 

It has not been enable yet. You can only create a lvl 1 or a "lvl 110" from a template.
