Naxx enchants on Serpent's Shoulders in TBC

  • Sorry if this has been asked multiple times, but I can't find anything recent. TBC pre patch comes next week, am I able to enchant naxx shoulder enchant to my serpents shoulders and it will still work in TBC? Some friends and random redditors said they added something to fix this. Can anyone that played the first TBC classic confirm? Here's the reddit post my friend sent.

I would just like to be sure before I put down big gold before the prepatch hits on this enchant!

when blizz does a classic version they roll at or near last patch, meaning what was done in vanilla versions can't be recreated

shoulders from SFK and WC were grey/whites in van wow and the first part of van BC, players were able to put ZG and Naxx enchants on them and that did not soulbind them at that time making them mailable. from van wow thru WOTLK until the great twink nerf (asked for by twinks) there was a method to break items to zero armor that were made soulbound by head, shoulder, and leg enchants. once the items were red you could mail them. player would receive item showing not enchanted, repair it, log out, log back in, enchant would reappear. this worked mostly on greens and blues that were BOEs

when classic WOW released, twinks who had mains got to get ZG, etc head and shoulders enchants. this was reported by twinks (some on this forum) to be nerfed and gated. blizz loves twinks so they jerked and put a 60+ level requirement on the enchants, more than likely this carried over to classic BC ruining opportunities even for level 59's.

The level requirement on the enchants themselves was removed once they added enchant scaling. For example the ZG shoulder enchant use to have hidden level requirement of 60 (now 25), but it has been removed. Same goes for naxx enchants on retail.

I remember the exploit for breaking gear with soulbound enchant in order to trade it -- that was used mainly for leg and helm enchants (I still have few of these items in an old gbank). The naxx shoulder enchant does not cause item to be soulbound so that fixed exploit is not relevant here.
