Summary

Warriors are melee fighters highly trained in the arts of weaponry. They are quick and hardy on the battlefield. Depending on thier spec, a Warrior can dish out some damage, or be tough as nails to kill. Warriors hit thier enemies head on, and use diverse combat tactics to protect thier allies. Warriors must learn to master thier rage to be fully effective in combat.

"A Warrior is only as good as his or her team."

Races

Alliance:

Nightelf: Smeld, and 2% less of a chance to be hit. (Night Elf is the best race for an Alliance Warrior.)

Dwarf: Stoneform , Frost resist and Mace expertise.

Draenei: HOT (heals 20% health over 15 seconds.), +1% hit, and shadow resistance.

Gnome: Escape Artist, 1H sword expertise ( not worth it because fury blows now.) +15 to engineering skill and 20 arcane resistance.

Human: Every man for himself, sword/mace expertise.

Worgen: +1% critical strike, sprintlike ablility that increases movement speed by 40% for 10 seconds ( extremely useful) and +15 to skinning.

Horde:

Blood elf: Silence, +15 enchanting and arcane resistance. ( Blood elfs are the best choice for a Horde Warrior.)

Troll: Berserking, 15% snare reduction, 10% health regeneration in combat.

Undead: WotF (breaks fear), Cannibalism, Shadow resistance, and Touch of the grave. (Has a chance to drain the enemy, healing you for the same amount.)

Tauren: Warstomp (short stun), Nature Resistance, and +15 to Herbalism.

Orc: 15% reduced stun durations, bloodfury and axe expertise.

Goblin: Rocket Jump ( hurls yourself forward), Rocket Barrage ( deals damage according to level range), 1% haste, and +15 Alchemy

Both Factions:

Pandaren: Bouncy ( reduces damage from falling by 50%), Epicurean ( doubles the stat increases of food buffs), +15 cooking, and Quaking Palm ( pretty much a 4 sec gouge).

Talent:

Warbringer: Your charge stuns 3 additional enemy targets for 3 seconds and slows the enemy by 50% for 15 seconds. Very useful talent, mainly preferred for arenas or 1v1 type situations to maintain a kill.

Juggernaut: Allows incombat charging on a 12 second CD, it also generates rage.

Double Time: Gives 2 charges of Charge, you can charge twice on a 20 second CD. This Talent is BiS for Battlegrounds as it provides increased mobility when you are trying to get ToT (Time on Target) on ranged classes.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

Summary of Warrior Spells:

Battle Stance:

Generates rage with white hits and gives 5% damage and 5% armor. Use this stance for maximum damage output.

Heroic Strike:

110% Weapon damage, use when you have more rage then you can spend. Only prot warriors should use this, because the Arms equivalent to this spell is Slam.

Throw:

Use when you are CCed and cannot reach an enemy, or need to keep a stealth class in combat.

Charge:

Gap closer, and it stuns for 1 second. ( Unless, you spec Warbringer.) Charge is affected by spell hit chance, so make sure you get spell hit capped.

Victory Rush:

Available after getting a KB on an enemy, this spell heals you for 20% maximum hp and deals a small amount of damage in return. Steady source of burst damage once you get some kills flowing.

Execute:

Finishing move, use on enemies with less than 20% hp, keep your rage above 30, because no one can heal through this.

Defensive Stance:

Decreases damage by 25%, and generates 1 rage every 3 seconds while in combat. Use this when you are in a 1v1 Situation with a rogue and your MS is on cd. If your prot this is your main stance.

Sunder Armor:

Probably one of the most underestimated and valueable debuffs, Weakening the enemies armor by 12% upon reaching 3 stacks.

Taunt:

Used to keep stealthers out of stealth.

Thunderclap:

AoE spell that hits all enemy targets within 8 yards, also use if you suspect stealthers in your area. If you are Arms use when you have the rage requirement.

Mortal strike:

Deals 185% weapon damage and generates 10 rage. Use alot on healers as it reduces the amount of healing by 25%. 25% healing deduction = 25% more damage for your team.

Shield Block:

Blocks every melee attack for 6 secs. Backstrafe while using this.

Shield Slam:

Slams target causing damage and generates 10 rage in battle stance or 20 rage in defensive stance. Recently Considered OP as of 5.2, capable of dealing 1k+ critical strikes.

Slam:

Causes 215% weapon damage. This spell and Mortal strike is where most of your damage comes from, if you are an Arms Warrior

Warrior Specs:

Fury:

Due to changes and nerfs in MoP this spec is no longer playable, only recommended if you are a true hipster.

Arms:

They are the Footmen of this bracket, with their 25% healing deduction, and consistent burst damage, they outperform any other Warrior Specialization in damage.

Prot:

These are the Titans of the bracket, with their heavy mitigation combined with defensive stance, anything that touches them will land like a wet noodle. They Are #1 Flag Carriers in Premade Situations, and can deal ridiculous burst with one Overpowered ability.

Professions:

In order

1. Skinning/Leatherworking - Purpose - Medium Armor Kits (Drop them both when you are finished.)
2. Enchanting - Purpose - +15 Health to Chest, +1 Stamina/Strength to Bracer. (+1 Stamina to shield if Blood Elf.) (You can drop Enchanting afterwards.)
3. Herbalism/Alchemy - Purpose - Consumables.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

Strategy

1. Always focus healers, unless you can secure a kill on another target.

2. Switch to Defensive Stance while fighting Rogues or two or more players.

3. Avoid Midfield and Graveyards in Warsong Gulch they only lead to costing your team the game.

4. Use a Charge Focus Macro to interrupt enemy casting like this one below:

#showtooltip Charge
/use [target=focus, exists] Charge; Charge

5. Try to spread your Mortal Strike Debuff across all of the enemies in sight.

6. If you are a Protection FCer, use Charge to your advantage and gain some distance on your way to cap.

7. Backstrafing while using Shield Block tends to be very effective when you are in difficult situations.

8. In Order of importance to kill healers: Priests, Monks, Druids, Shamans, Paladin.

9. I can't stress this enough, You are a Warrior play aggressive, switch targets often and execute what needs to be killed.

10. Save Speed Potions for Gamechanging moments, like in premades, where if you had enough ToT on that Druid you could of won the game.

Player Added Tips:

"I rarely use my Charge to start a fight on Healers. I save the 2 stacks to use as interrupts. Anticipate heals and STRAFE, Bind your "Interrupt Charge" to a mouse scroll so you make sure you use it as soon as you get in range (or out of range, given that you have to be X meters away to use charge).

Even if I don't do the damage necessary to kill the healer, it's not about pride when you're interrupting key heals necessary to get you team a flag return." - La ' Haryl

"Boa sequence (chest then shoulders then trinket then weapons)" - Ferro

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

I'm not done editing, not even close. This is like a rough draft.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

Looks great. I know you're nowhere near done so I'll hold off on the suggestions til the finished product. Glad to see the strats included.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

Thanks I tried my best. It is still not finished though.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

I wrote this in about 10 mins , it's a rough draft atm, yeah I need to change many things.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

Good job! :) Enjoyed reading it, even though you arent done with it yet. Will check back later with suggestions.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

You can stop telling people it's a rough draft. I don't think anyone doubts that. I'm not sure what you expected, posting an unfinished guide in the F2P section, instead of the section for submitted guides. But, the entire point of a rough draft is to receive critique so you can fix the errors you've made.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

I was unaware of the submitted guides section ill pm a mod to move it. Yes I am accepting criticism.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

No warrior guide would be complete without an ethics/honor code. It's easily the most important part, and yet it's completely absent from your guide.

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

Glad to see an updated warr guide in the making.

Suggestions:
Bis gear arms/prot/FC
Boa sequence (chest then shoulders then trinket then weapons)
Key bindings (a warrior needs everything bound to keyboard even bandages)

Re: Neon's Updated Warrior Guide

Also you need to include that a beard on a warrior is vital.

Aye, and all healers must have huge knockers for injured warriors to rest their beards on while they recooperate!

Typical sexist gamer nonsense.
