EU: Meet The Twinks
NOTE: Name is stolen from Stealthcnt's US threads.. who got them from Drayner.. if this is a problem, I will happily go to my creative side, and find a name.
I got contacted by a twink to start making these about the European twinks. I had some ideas of who should be interviewed.. Vianco, Mesikammen, Trialdruid.... Stubs.. And here is an interview with the infamous paladin Stubs. This guy is known within our community as a healer for the feared guild, Tough Love. He has played in both EU and US, and has topped the rating lists.
Interviewer: Stavie
Guest: Stubs
Who are you?
I'm known as Stubs - "The guy who lvled his BiS GFed 19 Paladin, but I am also known as one of the best paladins in the bracket, if not the best. Some people might know me as Wóòt or Nayani from Tarren Mill.
Why did you start twinking?
I think the reason why I started twinking was because, as a little kid I didn't have much time to level, and I saw a lot of level 19s and 29s running around with crazy gear and got in contact with Wopper on Tarren Mill.
He told me about twinking and I made my first twink: a druid.
You are a well known member of Tough Love - what is your opinion of this guild?
That is correct, and my opinion of our guild is that we are a bunch of guys who take the game pretty serious, and hate to lose. And that is probally the reason why me, Nicozy and Vianco made the guild in the first place. We were tired of being the guys carrying everyone on our shoulders and we were tired of all baddies in Better Luck Next Time, and i think we became probably the best 19 twink guild in the world.
What is your overall opinion of the bracket?
My overall opinion of this bracket is that there are to many kids who doesn't have any balls to man up for some competition. Such as Arenas and Group Queues in battlegrounds to actually try to win (talking about EU battlegrounds) people just cry and cry without trying to make a change (group que for example is something we lack on the Alliance side) and I'm actually afraid that even when skirmishes come back people will still keep on not doing arenas, as people are afraid of improving.
You have played both EU and US 19s, what did you prefer and why?
Yes thats is true, and I actually do think US bgs are way more fun, because first of all the pug FC's normally know that they should not run away from their whole team. Also the bgs I played on US, the team went together like it should be. I hate when the team split up and end dying all over the place. It's just sad that I can't play US a lot because of the time difference, and I wish I could bring whole Tough Love to US because there is alot more guilds to fight there even tho there haven't been any premades yet.
You are premading with your guild. How is the competition?
Yes we are and I think the competition is low atm. There haven't really been any challenge in the few games we played, and also it seems like there is no other guild in the EU that is as dedicated as we are (Tough Love). When you set a date for a premade and you sign up you should show up, and if you can't show up you should atleast tell a few hours or days ahead. Tthis for example happened vs QITBB (Queueing Is The Best Bit) where 3-4 guild members of QITBB didn't show up. And thats also a thing I dont like with EU people. They are mostly crying instead of taking it upon themself to make their own little guild with their own little crew they enjoy playing with. It's to much crying. But no, there ain't much competition.
It is a fact that we see you and Tough Love contain the oppisite team in GY - why do you do this, and what is your view of GY containment/farming?
Well the reason why we mostly stay outside enemy graveyard/tunnel is because it makes the enemy flag carrier alone and getting no support from his teammates. Then when he is about to pass we got good time to get to him and to kill him (most of the times atleast). Also people might wonder why we do not chase flag carriers who just run in crazy speed through the map with a BM monk for example. The answer is easy: There is no point at all, when we can get HKs and keep his team members away til 4 stacks, where he can't just sprint away.
My view on gy containment is possitive, I think it is a great strat, but I understand it is not fun to be contained.
Who do you think is the best players overall in 19s - worldwide?
Easy question, since I've been playing both EU and US and I've seen a lot of great players. Here is some of them:
Vianco, Nazzr, Nicozy, Arkant, Ridwane, Kwix, Yowza, Nettieb, Hajima, Whosyurdaddy
I probably forgot some. These were just some random pop-ups.
Pizza is not on the list? Interessting. He is topping many rating lists. Why not Pizza?
I think the hype around Pizza is too much. I've been playing against him both in arena and WSG. People say that anyone can play boomkin and its the easiest class in the bracket right now, but it's the same with every class even if its easy, you gotta have that little extra to actually become the best, and in my opinion Vianco is on higher boomkin level than Pizza, judging from both arena and WSG.
Who do you think would be able to stand up to you and your guild?
I doubt anyone could. I mean there is a lot of hype about Pizza's Raw Talent and I can say that looking at his guild roster at the moment, I don't think they would stand a chance. It's hard to tell since they are US and we are EU, but looking at their guild roster we got better player on every single position. But if I would say an EU player or guild it would probably be ALLSPACENOCAPE. It's just sad that Phonebook would not take the challenge.
I doubt any guild would stand a chance against Tough Love atm.
What is your opinion of TwinkInfo and the community?
I think TwinkInfo is a lot of fun and I can always log in there and have a fun read, even tho it's good with serious threads and stuff for new players, I do prefer when there is drama around and I think everyone agree with me, since those threads always get the most attention.
You played Retribution Paladin in the start of Cataclysm, but stopped due to their big nerf. Do you look forward to them getting buffed in 5.3?
Yes I actually do. I always love playing paladin (any spec) but I actually miss doing damage, so yes I'm actually looking forward to the retribution buff a lot, even tho i don't know how big of a change the buff will do.
Great! Thanks for the interview.
You are welcome.
