Mastery available at lvl 78 (down from 80) in legion

Hey,

it seems that mastery will be available from lvl 78 instead of lvl 80 in legion. Which will increase the power advantage even more of the 79 twinks over the 70 twinks in bgs/arenas I guess, maybe 79 twinks will become more popular in legion than now.

Generally there isn't any mastery gear before level 80. There are very few exceptions like Wyrmscale Greaves - Item - World of Warcraft which came into existence when hit rating was removed, and an item with hit rating already had crit and haste on it.

So unless they go back and add more mastery items for lower levels (seems unlikely to me) there will be very little mastery available for 78s/79s outside of consumables which aren't usable in arena.

Although, afaik we still don't know whether or not the pvp stat templates will apply to lower levels. If they do, that could mean that 78s/79s will have mastery.
But I must say that if the stat templates do apply to lower levels and gear becomes irrelevant in pvp, I'll personally find twinking a lot less enjoyable as building your character is a big part of the attraction for me.

The enchants already add like 10%-20% don't they and isn't the base mastery rating 10%? That's quite a difference.

It's not really worrying since we don't have battlegrounds anyway :>)

Quite a lot of items seem to gain Versatility (replacing Spirit I believe?) and a fair few items appear to be gaining a combo of Versatility and Mastery (Mostly Druid and Priest PvP sets).
