I just got my mage to 59 and I'm wondering whether to stack crit or haste or vers or what. I'm also not sure which weapon to use. I see most mages not using Eternal Blade of Darkness even though the stats and effect are solid. If you guys have any other general mage tips I'd really appreciate it.

I personally, would use Eternal Blade of Darkness.

Regardless of the spec you play, you'd want to run the 5+/5+ intellect/critical gems.
As for enchants:
Spellpower on bracers, gloves, cloak, off hand, weapon
Stats on chest.
Minor speed or intellect on boots.
Neck is hidden satyr. rings depend on spec (haste for frost, crit for fire, vers for arcane)

Of course everything is preference.

Eternal blade does not proc enough for arcane/fire to make it better than a stat stick. Stat wise you can usually get a higher sum of pure vers than a mix of crit haste (for arcane and fire vers sims higher).

I think for fire you're better off with versatility. U can get guaranteed crits with the spec so stacking it isn't always worth it.
