Mad queue times for launch assured? Herod = hosed.

Unfortunately it really sounds like Blizzard is going to vastly underestimate the demand for Classic, and the number of realms needed is going to be a lot *higher* than what is provided.

Whether or not this means some obsure server is going to become the long-term home for folks remains to be seen. I personally want to be able to play both factions for 19s-29s-39s-49s, escort my lowbie toons thru dungeons, scout opposing faction AH, trade on Booty Bay AH with my second account, etc.

Here is the datacenter list:
https://wow.gamepedia.com/Americas_region_realm_list_by_datacenter_(Classic)

So, I'm really curious to check out realm populations and queue times at launch, what realms will be coalesced into battlegroups, as well as where the dust settles for players.

At this point it seems to be Atiesh or Myzrael for me. West Coast is best coast.

Faerlina has streamers. If you are expecting to play on Herod, Faerlina, or Whitemane : Blizz has announced that it's a really bad idea.

Curious to know your thoughts!

They'll launch more servers.

They already did launch another one for EU.

Not sure how well that will work, but who knows. WoW has always had an issue dealing with a handful of super populated servers, and the rest being not populated enough.

Honestly, people should just go and populate other servers.

They have 12 US servers now, I believe they will need a lot more than that.
That entirely depends on how evenly people choose to distribute.

But unfortunately, like I said...People like to all flock to the same servers. You're still going to have at least 1-3 of those 12 US servers be low population after a while.

NO U! ;)

Cant see most not having somethin on multiple servers anyway, I didn't even bother trying herod when the queue just to get a name was wrecked... Im sure tons will lose interest rather soon after launch, but meh on that noise.

Hey, I'm on Bloodsail, thank you very much.

Yep. And honestly, once the people trying it because it's new and there vacate, it will have a more homey feel to it. ^_^

There wont be battlegroups, bgs will be all realms
No one implied there would be. We're talking about the queue to get into the server.

OK, EVERYONE REROLL ON BLOODSAIL!!!
*bloodsail queues wrecked*

:Troll:

I don't recall it being too hard to reroll most classes, just being attentive to XP while gearing. Except for stuff like LFH/AGM.

Was there any other deep-investment stuff for the lower levels? Not ringing any bells.

read between the lines of their statements and they recognize that interest in Classic will crater after the first month or so, so they dont want to launch a bunch of servers to handle launch only to end up with 12 ghost towns and 1 really populated hub.

Yall can just deal with que times for the first couple weeks. After all, we're here for an authentic Vanilla experience yea?

I was referring to battlegroups as in days of old, or cross-realm battlegrounds, or something that would mean Warsong consists or more people than just what is on the server.

Battlegroups were introduced in vanilla patch 1.12 so I had assumed they would be a thing. Google seems to indicate unclear answers on the subject.

I'm just here to say that watching <Eternal Sun> do their thang in the old days is what made we want to do this in the first place.

On topic: Chops has the right of it

I'd imagine it's more or less one battlegroup with the amount of servers.
Yes they did read the fucking post
You're a peach.

When that existence is limited by participation it does. A time will come when there will be ghost town servers.

I wonder if they'll offer transfers at that point... for a nominal fee, as so conveniently was offered the first time.

They do never learn, after all. ;)
