EU Level 70 BGs

Incinderella

Veteran
I'm relatively new to this bracket and twinking in general, but I levelled my arcane mage and got some pretty good gear and started doing really good damage in Battlegrounds (I'm very aware that has nothing to do with my skill and everything to do with spamming arcane missiles), however - about 1 in every 3 BG queues would put me up against a premade which would just stomp us in the first minute.

Anyway, the point of me writing this is that I wanted to form an alliance BG premade for this bracket, for faster queues and easier wins etc. I'm sorry if there is a better place to post stuff like this, as I said I'm new, but if there is anybody on Alliance who is twinked at either 70 or 79 and might be interested, comment below and maybe we can sort something out.

Welcome to the bracket! Great name for a mage btw, but you have to play fire at least occasionally :).

On topic, I do believe most horde queue solo (I do 99% of the time) but there are more of us lately so it may seem like premades. Of course if you run into Zeh Germanz you're in for an uphill battle, just as we are when we run into Ante Amanthe premades. Once you play a bit you'll start noticing names and you can add friends and queue together.

See you in the BGs!

P.S. Consider https://www.wowhead.com/item=37033/manual-of-the-tides&bonus=3685 for your offhand. 3 less int, 2 less stam, 8 less versa, but you gain 12 crit and 12 haste.

Late evening, when wife'n'daughter are sleeping, you should see me online.

Thankyou for the replies! I wasn't expecting so many.
I used to play fire, but seeing the numbers arcane can do easily kinda turned me away - I still go back occasionally.
Also I'll look into that offhand thankyou =)
Pelora#1893 for anybody who wants to add me
[doublepost=1548006616,1548006140][/doublepost]Also; here's a more direct link if anybody wants to tell me how badly I am twinking-
I mean give me advice
Feel free, I'm always open to improving

First thing that pops out to me is that meta. Always recommend the stun reduction metas, but as you're a human I would probably go for the bonus crit damage one. You can pick up movespeed on the boots with Tuskaar's Vitality which gives a nice Stam bonus too. You could also pick up Wrath Inscription for a good shoulder enchant, or if you already have both profs, grind out that Shattrath rep for the shoulder enchant. Lastly, haste on gloves!

Thanks for the help! Ill go sort my meta out rightnow, I just kinda picked the one that sounded cool, I need to redo my enchants and I'll take what you said to heart. I haven't done any professions yet so I'll probably level that at some point too.

Profession-wise you have the following options:

JC for the BiS neck https://www.wowhead.com/item=34360/amulet-of-flowing-life#taught-by-item
Engineering for trinket, nitro belt and bombs.
Inscription for a better-than-aldor/scryer shoulder enchant.
Tailoring for nets (would be very useful for an arcane mage to make you harder to reach by melees).

If you like procs, grind out exalted Scale of Sands (Mount Hyjal raid rep) for the https://www.wowhead.com/item=29305/band-of-the-eternal-sage

For consumables, see the relevant section in the guide in my sig. Everything except the flask is the same for 70s as well.

I've seen people mention that neck before; but how does the Shattered Sun Offensive Rep one ( https://www.wowhead.com/item=34678/shattered-sun-pendant-of-acumen ) compare to it? Because I already started farming the rep for that.
I'll probably go with BS and Engineering, the extra socket is nice and the shoulder enchant from scryers exalted is fine imo - I could be wrong
I might look into tailoring though, as that does seem useful
Finally, I am planning on farming out that ring soon.

I'll take a look at consumables too, thanks! =)

EDIT: No clue how to do links properly; sorry about that

that neck doesnt work

Ah, my bad
I'll probably take JC for the bis neck then, as an extra socket is always nice

As gucciyo said, the SSO spellcaster necks are currently broken. Only the melee/tank ones work, so if you want a 100 haste proc you can go for the tank one + scryer.

Once they're fixed (if at all) they would be a very strong option.

BS for an extra socket on your belt.
Black smithing is not required for this belt socket

That necklace proc does not actually grant stats, so it’s useless, the only one to my knowledge that procs is the might and resolve

That sucks, but a haste proc might actually be nice.
I'll think about this whilst i'm mindlessly doing bgs

Looks like I might use https://www.wowhead.com/item=34680/shattered-sun-pendant-of-resolve instead, stamina is always nice and a haste proc is never a bad thing

Actually I am wrong to recommend that. It procs on melee/ranged hits only, not on spell hits, so you wouldn't trigger it as a mage.
[doublepost=1548019333,1548019268][/doublepost]
Also it’s not 100 haste anymore, it’s around 64 now

The aldor proc is still 100 dodge on a 79, do you think it's a difference between scaling for 70s vs 79s or they specifically nerfed the haste (scryer) proc?

No idea, I just know my rogues haste set it was 100 haste, and now it’s only like 64 ish since I tested it
