When the dev said that they weren't letting us get Mage Tower looks, I decided that this remix wasn't worth my time.
I heard this same complaint about the MoP Challenge Mode appearances. I'm sure some people care about this sort of thing a lot. For me the outrage always felt manufactured but YMMV.
I played Legion like my life depended on it when it was current content, & It provided some of my all-time favorite WoW memories & highest achievements.
The bastardized MoP remix made me illl after 3 weeks; basically turning WoW into a mobile game,
IMHO MoP Remix is the best event/LTM that Blizzard has ever done and it's not even close. And I think a lot of people felt that way. Like there's an achievement for getting level 70 as a Timerunner and according to DFA or Wowhead I think over a million accounts have it. That's a significant portion of the player base.
As for being OP, that's actually why it was fun. And because there was no gold and no AH, you had way more community in it than I can ever remember seeing in Retail. Like even up to the end there were carries for all the raids. Some people got ridiculously powerful and still ran carries because, well, it was just fun. In Retail, every one of those would be a sold carry.
Also, we're on a forum for twinking. People run 11 Warriors that are ridiculously OP, that can solo dungeons with ease. How is that any different?
My fear is that Blizzard will try and "fix" these problems so it's just not fun anymore.
Initially it was too much of a grind to max gear, excluding the forgs. But once that got tuned it was in a really good place. I got 5 476s.
& leaving me with little desire to repeatedly one-shot World-Bosses with appallingly OP toons.
The ONLY way i'd go anywhere near this would be if they reverse this revolting decision & allow us to acquire the Mage Tower xMogs.
Based on the MoP CM mogs, I don't see that happening.
One nice thing is we're getting 5 more character slots. That's actually an issue for me.
