EU+US Legion - 79 Twink high item level gear

So with the Legion patch out, it is my understanding that higher item level gear will increase your stat template. Is there a limit to how much higher your stats can go? If not, then it seems to me that 79 twinks will be VERY OP. If comparing Heirloom item level is any indication as to what the standard item level is for that bracket, then you can get a HUGE ilvl boost at level 79.

Item level for Heirlooms at 79 is 183. You can get gear ranging from item level 283 to 308 in every slot. That's a 100+ difference per item. So are 79 twinks just going to be outrageously overpowered? Or is there a maximum stat advantage that you can have over the standard?

I considered this but I think the best you'd get is a 10-12% stat bonus. Certainly better than any other bracket but it still won't be life changing. More like a cherry on top if you happen to enjoy the bracket already.

Has someone actually tried this though? I mean how much greater would your template be if you had over 100 item levels over the standard?

1 item level = 0.1% stats so 10% increase

I'll have to make a 79 twink and ilvl stack it :) I already am working on my soon to be 79 dk nothing like spending some extra gold for ilvl stuff XD

you can get full 308 gear from running Throne of the Tides and Blackrock Caverns. got 304 on my warr, missing 2 pieces :/

I wonder... is 308 the highest item level you can get? Or can you get item level 325 from Scorched Satchel of Helpful Goods?

If you can, you should be able to get around a 311.75 average item level which would put you at a 12.875% stat increase.

For that matter, if you were grouped with a higher level player, could you get item level 390 from a Tranquil Satchel of Helpful Goods?

If that's the case, you should be able to hit about 333 average item level which will put you at 15%.

Interesting idea. Lvl79s might be able to get the 325 ilvl, yes. I am leveling a Mage, and might check on this when I come by the level range.
