Just a thought...

Fuck anybody who wants to be involved in law enforcement lol!

That's an unfortunately common mentality. At the moment, we (the US) have a pretty broken criminal justice system. Lots of stupid laws... lots of corrupt officers... an inconsistent judicial system... and a "corrections" system with almost zero corrective aspects.

Not really surprising that people are unhappy with it. Sad that that stems to me personally, and other individuals who had nothing to with it being broken (and are infact trying to fix it). But that's the reality of it.

U know what that was dumb of me to say because its retarded to generalize.

But there are just so many prick cops out there that I have encountered personally, and so many prick cop acts showing up in the news, its hard to find any sort of reasonable outlet for the rage that gets generated out of that. Like the story that just came out about the cops in Vancouver basically ignoring the Pickton farm serial killers for 3 years while they killed 14 more women, and meanwhile were busy sexually harassing female officers.

Don't worry about it. There definitely are a lot of prick cops out there... they are an extreme minority, but their actions give a bad reputation to the entire criminal justice system... just understand that for every prick, there are a lot of good people just trying to help their community. Unfortunately, being a 'good cop' will rarely get you on the news, so it's the pricks who make the reputation for everyone else.

There's a lot that needs to be done to fix the CJ system... being part of the solution is one of my reasons for wanting in.

I've been treated like shit by cops multiple times, through no fault of my own. Id say it'd be a fair assumption to say there are just as many asshole useless lazy awful excuses for cops as there are hard working ones. /bias

Fuck the police.

Not entirely derailed. That said though, if you're the kind of person that is into rules and regulations, then obviously buying game time with gold is currently one of those gray areas at best. Personally, I've never really concenred myself with minor details such as those, chaotic>lawful.

As for PayPal, it's possible to have people give you money with it, and then use that money to buy game time from Blizz. Zero legal/terms of service issues with doing that. It doesn't require you to give them any bank or credit card details either. I question how many freeloaders would do that, but who knows? I still think a scroll of resurrection, which gives you ten days free, is a good start. Again, zero legal issues there either.

My issue with paypal is mostly the problems it would introduce by allowing people to contribute in increments other than $15... the time card just seems like the simplest option to me.

Anywho it's not looking like the interest level is high enough. I've gotten a couple tells from folks in game saying they'd be willing to pitch in some cash / a time card, but I wouldn't be able to keep it active for more than a few months. If I ever land myself a job that pays more than the monetary equivalent to a slap in the face, I might just fund this on my own coin. Till then, I'll leave this open for others to express interest and will stick to the original plan if it starts to look like it will be worth while.

Sorry for my absence btw - I got into the weekend beta test for SWTOR, so WoW is kind of on hold until my access to SWTOR expires.

...pretty sweet game... it's definitely on the list of things to buy when my income permits it.
