In Need of New Music!

Awesome

<The Awesome>
I need new music!!

I love hard rock and metal (not too thrashy), and old music... like, the bands tat inspired a lot o the bands that are listened to today, like Yes, The Talking Heads, etc...

I just need some more because at my tattoo parlor we play music while everyone is waiting, but my ipod playlist is really kind of short and I can't afford to just keep streaming pandora all day... so any suggestions?

Just cool bands/songs/albums that you'd expect to hear in a parlor.
ON A SIDE NOTE:
I just went to a BBQ with the new lead singer of Yes haha, John I think his name was... he's awesome, he used to play in a Yes tribute band my boss' dad was in, so he came to the BBQ... it was so fucking rad

play more country and less metal

We try to ask the clients what they want to hear, and considering that it is a tattoo parlor, we get a lot of requests for heavy metal, punk, hard rock, shit like that. Every now and then we play some post-hardcore new shit, or some rap, but it's usually rock or something in that general area.

Never once had anyone ask me to play country haha. Hank 111, maybe, but I consider him more punk than country.

Edit: BTW I'm apprenticed, so as the "shop bitch" I generally just talk to people, clean up spilled ink, and change the music. It's a sick gig, but the dudes asked me to put together a huge playlist as default atmosphere

i respect asking the costumers what they want, but at the same time coke doesnt ask you want you want to drink. they put it out and *maybe* listen to feedback (at least in the sense of sales)...so you could argue put on whatever the f you want and only change it if customers go down. and not that im saying become ONLY a country tattoo shop, but vary it up is all. variety is the spice of life, they say. i know if i walked into a shop the best tattoo artist in the world could be working, and id go to a lesser guy if they were playing only metal n other stuff in that vein.

tldr, customer doesnt always know what they want/arent always right. not that i expect a "shop bitch" to stand up and change it...just suggesting
