I know some of you are probably happy that I am gone :D.

I know most of you are sad.

Anyway, I encourage those who are thinking of quitting to do it. Video games like wow are a slippery slope. It's hard to play them casually. In a world where spare time is becoming less, where college/high-school/work and sports take up the bulk of time.. go spend your free time with friends and family. Make new friends, pick up a new hobby, go to the gym and get huge. Get a girlfriend. Wow is not going to get you anywhere.

I've always had a respectable job .. a beautiful wife.. I thought playing wow on the side was a good stress reliever and fun. While this is partly true, I have found more satisfaction exercising more and hanging out more instead. So I'd just like to give you my perspective, which most of you will dismiss anyway <3.

I know some of you will now reply "gtfo" or "I only play casually." But for many of you it's not true, and once you quit wow for 2-3 weeks you will feel much more free. Unplug yourself and experience more freedom.

As for those who miss me: I miss you too <3.

I know what you mean, enjoy your life :)

Yea, I am more or less on a hiatus from wow this summer. This is because I no longer have much to procrastinate for since the semester is over :p And I agree that getting away from wow is a great thing, but I'll still come back to binge for a few days here and there.

been there myself. wow can really take up too much time, even if you dont mean to.
however, its fun as fuck, and its the famous saying: "time you enjoy wasting was not wasted".

what i do, i simply plan cool things to do, (facebook events, so you cant really fling out) like standup concerts and cinema with gf/friends. if i didnt do that i would probably sit playing 24/7!

gl with your life :)

I quit for a long time and returned recently. Now I just go lone wolf in pugs.

After you're no longer part of any scene you'll find it's much easier to play at your own leisure.

Casual is the only way to fly. Just ask Han Solo.

Twinking and PvP is practically custom made for casuals/retired hardcores.

thanks for your perspective. never saw you in the game, but i will miss you.
i am a wow addict and i hope soon i can finally give the game up. wow has not gotten me anywhere over the past few years so i doubt it will get me anywhere now.
remember wow achievements and the like only exist in the game, they mean absolutely nothing in the real world.
i am glad you were able to free yourself from this game
good luck

Congrats on breaking your addiction. World of Warcraft is the largest addiction I've ever experienced. (Much larger than any of the narcotics I use while playing, hehe.) It's had a hold on me for almost 5 years straight now, it devoured my enjoyment of High School (before graduating) and it is pretty much in charge of my adult life. When I apply for a job my first thought is "Well fuck, I hope this doesn't cut into my WoW time." I can't bring myself to work anything more then a shitty part time job. Is this pathetic? It probably is, but is it true? Absolutely.

I play WoW for free but constantly find myself debating on buying things I need in real life or buying WoW trading card game loot. The depressing truth is that most of the time, the TCG items win and the rest of my measly paycheck goes to pay my rent , buy any drug I can find, and the rest is spent on ramen noodles. For people not as far down the road in their WoW addiction I greatly encourage you to slow down, and find yourself some goals you want to achieve outside of WoW.

When I first started playing this game it was to escape the hard times I was enduring in reality and I used it to find solace with my self. I continued to grow a deeper and deeper relationship with the game. I'd blow off family, friends, and anyone who I would ever meet, so that I could stay home and focus on the achievements I was trying to reach in Azeroth. That was 5 years ago, and now here I am still doing all these things but on a smaller scale (only because i have a job).

I commend anybody who has conquered their addiction to this game, whether they are as addicted as I am, or less addicted. I wish you the best Ferro.

To all the wonderful people I've met playing this game, and all the people I've yet to meet, I have no regrets about the relationships I've made with you. I love you all because you've been large parts of my life (considering that WoW is my life). This post was more into regards of the pure addiction of the game, not the social aspect. So please do not be offended.

As for the rest of you, I'm sure you will see me in the gulch or the basin soon, as I have no intention, nor the willpower to break this addiction. (;

I have to agreee with you lol, when i played wow, it was like a second job :( Constantly trying to get new stuff then replace them. People are better off staying away from it completely, or playing it in short bursts like once every other day. Sorry you are leaving, but I think most of us know that it is a good decision :) i mean WoW is most likely still going to be there anyways if you decide to return, so its not even a loss at all, its better to enjoy life with your friends / family which was a great point because they could be gone the next day, WoW will still be there.

gtfo you only play casually

jk haha  You always seemed level headed to talk to most of the time and weren't the most active poster or player but you were pretty well known and (as far as I know) liked so if that means anything to you you can look back at WoW and say you had fun and made an influence and maybe that'll make it so you don't ever think you wasted anytime on here. Gratz on being able to break the habit
