F2P Guide to 30 min Heirlooms (DMF)

Hashbrowns

Legend
So you want to get Heirlooms? You’ve come to the right place. I’m going to go through how to get (29) items in around 18 hours of play time. 100 prize tickets an hour or about 30 mins per Heirloom! This is mostly for fresh F2Ps who don’t have access to large amounts of gold but anyone that still needs to finish off a few items might find this helpful. I’ll be using the http://www.wowhead.com/quest=38934/silas-secret-stash method so if you are familiar with it this might not be for you but I will highlight some important information along the way. This guide will get you every available item from the Darkmoon Faire, so here we go.

Gear

Here are the items we will be getting:
http://www.wowhead.com/npc=56335/daenrand-dawncrest

There are (22) 50 prize ticket items, (5) 75 prize ticket items, and (2) 70 prize ticket items.

Info
  • You can only complete the quest once per character.
  • You need to be lvl 15 or higher to buy the faded map which starts the quest.
  • You do not need to have any fishing skill nor a fishing pole to go here and get started.
  • You start getting Darkmoon Daggermaw at a nearly 100% chance per casts round lvl 25 fishing.
  • You do not need to fish in pools.
  • If your fishing skill is below 25 buy a pole and attach the lure so you aren't getting weeds. Both can be bought from vendor there for a few silver. http://www.wowhead.com/npc=56069/tatia-brine
  • Prize tickets are auto added to Currency Tab so don’t panic if you don’t see them in your inventory.
  • This won't be enough for http://www.wowhead.com/item=122703/chauffeured-chopper#reward-from-a on it's own. Sorry, you'll need 35 for that mount.

Woah I need characters

You need (18) lvl 15+ characters to obtain everything, assuming you have no tickets on you already. These can be spread out on as many servers as you like, it doesn’t matter. If you are starting completely from scratch I would recommend making Tauren Priests or a Human something. Priest are very easy to level, you can just spam your dot and run around in bubble. Taurens can kill an infinite amount of boars in their starting zone and Humans have the same with the Murlocs at Crystal Lake. Kill up to level 10 then go solo DM or RFC once and you should be 15. Rinse, repeat. This should be done before DMF starts and is not counted toward the 18 hours of play time or so it’s going to take you to obtain everything.

You can learn fishing if you like and lvl it to 25, but it’s not needed.

DMF is here, I’m ready

Enter DMF and ride to the end of the dock. You can train fishing there if you need it. You don’t need a pole but if the +5 fishing one is there its worth buying. Start fishing. Like I said if you have no fishing skill you will get weeds for a bit, around 25 it smooths out. You are fishing for http://www.wowhead.com/item=124669/darkmoon-daggermaw and you need 100 of them. The http://www.wowhead.com/item=127141/bloated-thresher#contains can contain 5-10 Daggermaw’s so those are a win.

Once you get 100 go to Galissa Sundew and buy the Faded Treasure Map. She is right next to the Fishing Trainer http://www.wowhead.com/item=126930/faded-treasure-map. Start the quest.

Clue Time

You need to find 5 clues. This picture does a great job explaining everything:

http://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/scree...s-secret-stash-picture-in-vainios-comment.jpg

Go to the locations and loot the clue.

Clue 4 can be looted from either location a or b. Do them in order. Make sure you have bag space. After 5 you should be able to auto complete the quest and get your http://www.wowhead.com/item=127148/silas-secret-stash

It’s going to contain some potions. The tokens will auto get added to your currency tab, 100! That entire process should have taken 1 hour and nets you (2) 50 ticket looms.

Big Spender

It’s time to shop. Buy items in any order really. For your bigger items like 2hers and trinkets, just buy 1 and move on. I know you’ll have an extra 30 tickets or so, it’s not going to be worth doing daily’s or running dungeons for artifacts, unless you have some already. You do have the option to run BFD, it's still pretty bugged with dropping artifacts. Just don't be on any of the guide turn-in quest and run the dungeon, you should get all 5 pretty fast http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=6027/darkmoon-dungeoneer. But if your not a tank or heals with instant Q it might be better to just hop on the next character and start over.

Good luck!

Great guide, I saw u mention the stash in chat a few days ago (or maybe yesterday...) instantly went and tested it. Had to go ahead and do it on more characters just for all the noble cosmetic items :D

Note: For those that do have a good amount of gold, most of the time the Darkmoon Daggermaw isn't too expensive on the ah. I got 200 for about 300g or so, so remember to check AH if your lazy.

  • "You can only complete the quest once per character". Please add that you can only complete this once a month per character. so sayng if you have 11 twinks on 1 realm they can do this 1 time per character EACH month, and again the next and so on.

All of the Darkmoon artifacts still drop in BFD/Stockades like they did at the beginning of WOD as well. Has anyone tried using http://www.wowhead.com/item=116138 yet? I wonder if it scales down for world pvp. I've read that it doesn't work in BGs though.

You can buy lures at the dock so you're not fishing up junk to start.

Normally I will head to RFC after I reach level 10 to speed up the process. The same can be done for Deadmines, especially if you already have the heirloom mount. With Tauren I check for rares on my way to the mine along the eastern mountains in Mulgore. Blood elves I run down the scar. Humans I farm murlocs. As you said priest is very fast, as is any class that can dot with elemental force. Tie in the movement enchants on boa cape and a white pair of boots and you're really cooking with gasoline.

Kek... Someone has seen the light!!!

But, to the subject at hand. There are "better" ways to spend those DMF tickets. Ways better ways...
The OP is sort of on the correct track though.
What has most value/ticket?
