Hello fellow twinks!
With the release of patch 8.1.5 we can now obtain epic items from rare mobs and quests. There is only one problem... Every twink on your server is camping the spot hoping to get the kill before the other faction does.
And even if there is no one there to steal your kill, your epic drop is not guaranteed and then you have to wait for the next spawn. So what is the solution to this problem?
Step 1:
Let's say you're farming the epic version of [The Pacifier] from Lo'Grosh in Arathi Highlands. You would want to create a class trial mage that is either undead or dwarf depending on what faction you're playing. Reason for these two races is that you will have [Teleport: Undercity] or [Teleport: Ironforge] as soon as you log in, saving you time on flying to your rare mobs destination. Make sure you create your class trial character on a realm that is NOT connected to the realm your twink is on.
Step 2:
Once you've logged in and teleported to your racial city, talk to the FP and choose the nearest destination to your rare mob, or you can fly there on your own. Once you have arrived to the rare mobs destination, if the rare mob is there, proceed to step 3. If not, log out and make a new class trial on a different realm, don't delete the first class trial you just created, because you can visit it again another time to see if the rare has spawned and then proceed to step 3. Keep in mind that you can only create 4 class trials per hour and 8 per week.
Step 3:
On your class trial, Press "I" to open the "Dungeons and Raids" interface and select "Premade Groups". Start a new Custom group and name it whatever you like, I choose to name the group after my twinks name. There can be more than one group with the name "asdf" or "aaa" or similar to this so keep that in mind when choosing name for your custom premade group.
Step 4:
Log out from your class trial, change realm and log in on your twink. Fly your twink over to the rare mob and press "I" to open the "Dungeons and Raids" interface and select "Premade Groups". Select "Custom" and press "Find a Group". In the search bar, enter the name of your group that you just created on your class trial and hit "Sign Up" and then log out.
Step 5:
Log back in on your class trial. You should have the green eye on your minimap flashing and making a sound, press on it and you will see that your twink has signed up. Click on the "Invite" button and log out.
Step 6:
Log back in on your twink and accept the group invitation. You will now get phased over to your class trials realm and the rare mob will be there in front of you. Kill the rare mob and hope that the epic verison will drop.
Step 7:
If you didn't loot the epic version, just make a new class trial on a new low populated realm and repeat the process.
Time saving tips:
For those players with 2 accounts, this is done much faster with 2 WoW windows open at the same time, eliminating the need to log in and out all the time. If you don't have 2 accounts, you can still have 2 WoW windows open at the same time. The next log in will automatically DC you on the previous log-in, saving you the 20 seconds needed to log out. Also don't forget that you can buy the BoA toy that teaches you flight points in Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor for 10k gold. This can be purchased in Ironforge from Krom Stoutarm or in Undercity from Estelle Gendry. Now you can travel faster with your twink to the rare mobs destination!
Known issues:
Sometimes the phasing will be reversed & not working as intended. Example: Your class trial gets phased over to your twinks realm, to fix this just exit the game and open up a new WoW window.
