Hello all. I'm new to the community and overall new to twinking, although I suppose I already got the gist of it.

I have a F2P account only at the moment and therefore would like to compile a tier list, in terms of which classes are the more formidable enemies standing at level 29 and which are the better choices for us F2P players at level 20; essentially two seperate lists for each.

It would be much appreciated if those with the knowledge and/or the experience could contribute towards this list and recommend changes on what is on it, as I might be wrong for the most part at the moment and since the list will be severely lacking, initially. Cheers!

I would add survival to standard its allot of fun and can do some big hits aswell but they are very weak to classes that can kite

I'd suggest it may be better to populate this once Legion goes live. Whatever is specified now will most definitely change in a couple of months once we see what PvP is like in Legion.

Even the fact that healers won't be able to line up for 2's will change the dynamics of 2's.

    I'd recommend @Falendor re-visiting this post-Legion.:D

Mage is top in Arena 2 vs 2 and maybe in 3 vs 3 too(but i don't know since i never play 3 vs 3). And yeah, like Icehawk said, its better to do this list when Legion comes.

Nothing F2P should stand a chance vs the 29s. With that being said, somehow I feel even if you played a Alliance Goldshire Chicken some 29 will find a way to prove me wrong.

I may have forgotten some classes, but this is roughly how it is. Keep in mind too much of anything is bad so for example, even if Feral Druid is tier 1 for WSG, it doesn't mean having 4 ferals will give you the advantage, you need a bit of everything to have a great team. And for arena, I've listed classes that are top tier but they must synergize really well with the other class they're playing with to be viable. Top arena compositions for F2Ps:
    Feral / Rsham
    Feral / Disc
    Feral / MW
    Feral / Rogue
    Mage / Priest
    Warrior / Rsham
    WW / Rsham
    Feral / Mage

    Hope it helps you.

That's exactly what I needed, many thanks!

And as the others have suggested, I'll update the list once Legion hits and people are able to collect some data; so will likely take a little while into the epac.

@Lanky One question though, how come fury warrior is usbpar to Arms? When I look at the numbers, spells and whatnot alone they seem better on paper.

Fury is a very rng based spec, you really need the free wildstrike procs from Bloodthirst to put out damage. Also, you need to sit in battle stance to get enough rage for the slow and wildstrike where as arms can rot targets with rend while sitting in defensive stance, which is ideal for a wsg frontliner.

And what about the difference between Feral and Balance? As far as I can see, Balance has way more versatility since you do close enough damage in Cat Form as well on top of your spells. I mean, I understand that Savage Roar + Tiger's Fury -> 50+ Energy Fericous Bite can dish out an almost 3k crit as a geared F2P Feral, but from what I see you can pull around 1k hits and 2,5k crits with Starsurge as well as Starfire, one after another without needing as much prep and 5 combo points and still get 600 crits with Shred as opposed to the 1k crits as Feral and roughly 1,5k+ crits with Ferocious Bite. And you have the extra survivability from Moonkin.

Is it just that Feral can dish out a 3k crit and can stun that makes it OP or is there another reason as to why a boomkin is not considered as OP, if not more?

feral you can stun lock and kill targets, balance you can't. if enemy trinket is down, feral can solo global with the right setup (combo points stay with you). balance does more dps overall, but does not have the single target gib power of the feral.

Can you actually stunlock though? 10sec cd on Prowl, 4sec stun through Rake. Can't really stealth back reliably enough.

It can be situational, as you said feral can stun and kill a target in that stun which makes it broken. That's why it's top tier for WSG and arena because in both of those instances you need single target burst, for EFC or healers and such, balance is also up there, if not better for WSG as it also brings mid rot pressure and great single target damage, with also the ability to FC. Both are tier 1 for WSG, but in arenas ferals are in a league of their own compared to balance druids. For example, if you had a 2v2 match with feral / disc vs balance / disc, the feral / disc will come out top because it has much higher burst in a short amount of time. Balance on the other hand takes time to set up burst correctly (building up combos then starsurge > bite) balance is also prone to interrupts while feral is not.

Overall in arena, feral is just a better version of boomy because of how quickly it can set up brust and swap it to a new target if needed. Feral teams also tend to counter some of the other top tier 2v2 teams like mage / priest and windwalker teams.

Best races for ferals are nelf for ally and tauren for horde, displacer beast tends to be a great talent for how easily it allows you to run away and get restealths, so you can open on a target, get their trinket, get 3-4 combos, displacer away and get a reaslth, savage roar, reopen, build combos, tigers fury, bite. Nelfs, can also meld then rake to restun and taurens can warstomp after stun which usually finishes the job

Didn't know you could rake in Shadowmeld, ha! :D

I actually got Wild Charge instead, the leap, root and daze really help.

I suppose my only misfortune is facing too well-geared opponents with 5,5k-6k+ HP then, possibly lots of armour too. Can never get 3,5k crits :/

Eventhough f2p feral is still fotm, you will struggle vs 29s a lot, you're heavily reliant on your team to help you out so it's important to pick your fights carefully.

Resto druid is prob the #1 Bg class so i'd add that, and why the fck is resto shaman in top tier?

You mean the 2k HP no gear teammates? Yea, about that...
Then again, I have no enchants; although doubt they'd make THAT much of a difference given what they are. Still would've been nice though. The only reason why I'm not bothering with them is that they'll become obsolete come Legion anyway. Speaking of which, how will F2P bracket be a thing? I've heard there will be such a bracket, yet will it be a 20-29 only accessible by F2Ps or a sole level 20 non-bracket?

Even without enchants, rshams are toptier healers in arena and bgs, if played well ofc.

Ofc they are, I'd much prefer 2 discs and a rsham on my team rather than 3 discs or 2 discs and a mw
