Don't hate on the mushroom! (F2P 11)

You should make a trip to Northrend for enchanting.

All you need to do is go to the plate vendor who will sell you epic quality gear for a few silver, so buy 20-30 of them and disenchant. That should get you enough skill to learn Abyssal Shatter which will get you Dust and Essence. If you need dream shards for enchanting formulas you can buy blue PvP gear from the vendor near the portal room for a few silvers as well.

That will give you easy access to glove, boot, chest, cloak, and bracer enchants; and will only take you maybe 15 minutes.

yeah this is all recently acquired gear or gear that was in my bank from classic TW, I am going to enchant it! thanks for the info though!

As for the mushroom, it heals 14-15 per kill, which in big packs combined with dual crusader, it kinda makes up for no Lifestealing.

Pair it up with https://www.wowhead.com/item=106899/frostwolf-veterans-keepsake , especially for clearing trash. This is a horde only quest reward but obtainable by alliance if a horde player starts the event (either have someone help you or camp the camp and surprise the unexpecting hordie).
Edit: Forgot about the easy button https://www.wowhead.com/item=122361/swift-hand-of-justice for 700g. May as well start buying hairlooms if you're at or near 1k gold cap.

https://www.wowhead.com/item=188352/argussian-compass works really well for hard hitting/bleed fights (especially the TW version) but you probably already have that given you farmed up at least one Hatebringer.

Question: how hard was it to level up enchanting to 300 to learn crusader? Any guide you followed or can recommend?

Purchase items from
(A) https://www.wowhead.com/npc=167429/quartermaster-richter
(H) https://www.wowhead.com/npc=169166/provisioner-jinhake or https://www.wowhead.com/npc=42028/kromgar-quartermaster
And disenchant them for your first 25 skill.

To get the strange dust/essence to level from 25 to 105 you can visit enchanting trainers/vendors and buy their stock. Shattrath has 4 vendors, Northrend Dalaran has 3. You can cycle through these every hour or so to get around the 100 https://www.wowhead.com/item=10940/strange-dust needed. Once you reach 105 skill you can just buy as many items you need from the quartermaster to level the rest of the way.

Use this macro when disenchanting when you need to use https://www.wowhead.com/item=16203/greater-eternal-essence and https://www.wowhead.com/item=156930/rich-illusion-dust it will save you two clicks.

/use Light Illusion Dust
/use Lesser Eternal Essence
/cast Disenchant

If you dont want to use the vendors, I did tailoring low level stuff to DE, the best source of dust and essence for me was the wool shoulders, 4-6 dust and 1-2 greater essence per DE

I found wool was a hard item to farm compared to other classic cloth. What locations/mobs have you all had luck with? It seems flying around Dragon Isles picking up

Has anyone found a good source for eternal essence and illusion dust yet?
Seems with the Midnight squish the items sold by quartermasters DE into strange dust and magic essence making early part of enchanting easy (no longer need to camp enchanting vendors in capital cities, yay!) but creating a big chasm after 150ish or so.

its not too difficult

you can disenchant the weapons from https://www.wowhead.com/npc=167429/quartermaster-richter or the parallel horde npc and level untill around a 100, and from that point you will need illusion dust

this guide essentially should cover it https://xpoff.com/threads/enchanting-and-you-a-brief-summery.96389/ scroll down a bit

Hence my question. Before Midnight squish it was, generally speaking, buy strange dust and magic essence from enchanting vendors, get to 100-ish, then buy weapons from quartermaster, DE for Illusion dust and Eternal essence and go all the way to 300. Post squish, the weapons sold by quartermasters DE into strange dust and magic essence which makes the early part of enchanting easy but removes the easy source for Illusion dust and Eternal essences needed to progress further into enchanting.
Asking another way, is there a source of vendor greens/blues that DE into illusion dust and eternal essences post Midnight squish?

if those dont DE into illusion dust then i dont think so sadly, if regular BOEs dont disenchant into illusion dust at lvl 20 then its probablly relying on rare quality drops from bosses, BOE and maybe quests or crafting with relics as rahn points out earlier

i didnt think about the ilvl changes affecting the disenchants at all, yeah this makes it considerably more complicated now

at that point i think tailoring is probablly the best for that?

Im so glad I am a hoarder (in WoW not RL) I started off the prepatch loaded down

EDIT: Classic quest rewards (at level 20, I am no longer an 11) can DE into light illusion dust and lesser eternal essence, but leveling to 300 this would be painfully slow

It's either that or jewelcrafting. Depends on if one would rather fly around looking for copper deposits, or killing mobs for the linen cloth.

Thank you for the info. Never thought I'd miss the tedious "buy weapon-DE weapon-create dust/essence-enchant some scrolls-go train- rinse and repeat" routine.

I'm also assuming the crafted items to DE would need to be higher ilvl vs what they were in the past or one will end up with lots of strange dust and magic essences but don't know how high up into JC or tailoring one needs to go to clear that bar. Using quest reward greens is a no go for a lvl11, I'd think given the low ilvl of the reward and scarcity of the rewards vs materials needed to get to 300.

I don't think any of the crafted gear has ilvl high enough to get you illusion dust even if you have max JC or tailoring.
As such the best option currently is to farm up linen cloth or copper ore and use Relics of the Past II and hope you get more than Large Brilliant Shards when you DE them.
